Country Chic Decorating Ideas For Spring
As I take you on the Spring Home Tour, I’ll be sharing all the ways I’ve added country chic ideas to each area of the farmhouse.
Farmhouse Living Room
Today’s tour begins with the coffee table vignette.
I found this concrete swan on a recent Thrifting with the Gals adventure and fell in love.
So instead of placing her outdoors and out of sight, the crusty aged swan takes center stage on the living room coffee table. She is resting on an architectural riser and is filled with greenery.
Bringing the outdoors inside for Spring is a favorite country chic decorating idea. I mixed the swan with a hurricane candleholder filled with DIY Decoupage Eggs, a spring bird on a stack of books, and chunky candlesticks.
Next to the rustic coffee table, the neutral sofa is filled with cozy pillows and throw blankets. The soft blues and cream pillows add a romantic soft feel to the industrial farmhouse style.
The living room is also filled with a mix of woods and whites for an eclectic decorating style. The DIY Stationary Box and DIY Industrial Side Table were both repurposed decor projects.
In addition, the decoupage eggs and vintage paper roses add to the handcrafted country chic design.
Country Chic Entry Decorated for Spring
As you can see, the entry doors open right into the living room. However, the console table serves as my entry table. Let’s take a look at all the Country Chic ideas for Spring in this space.
Many different ideas are being used in this area, including lots of texture with the large woven basket and the layering of the vintage picture frames.
The basket is filled with naturally dried twigs and pods that can be used to decorate year-round.
A rustic, repurposed gas-can lamp provides light to this corner of the entry.
Next is a glass cloche on a natural wooden riser with more paper roses to complete the console table spring decor.
Small touches of seasonal decor include a concrete bunny and spring lilacs.
Do you remember the DIY wooden spool tassels from Christmas? I have enjoyed them so much and decided they also look great for Spring.
Office Area
Although I don’t have a separate office, the area on the other side of my entry doors is dedicated to my work area.
The space is filled with vintage charm. Everything from the repurposed desk to the wooden ladder are vintage.
The vintage natural wood file cabinet was left as I found it to mix with the painted desk and chair.
The vintage typewriter and rotary phone don’t work but provide the old-fashioned feel that I love.
A new woven basket is filled with faux birds’ nest stems, and the minimal seasonal decor surrounds the vase.
I used vintage flower frogs and an old brush to display more bird nest decor.

Country Chic Kitchen Decorating for Spring
The kitchen has had several recent DIY project additions since last fall.
I’m still amazed at how the DIY hanging copper pot rack warmed the brick wall above the sink.
Designed to display my collection of vintage copper pots, it has completely transformed the feel of the farmhouse kitchen.
Adding vintage gas station enamelware lights helps to add a chic country feel to a new modern farmhouse.
Country Chic Kitchen Island Centerpiece
The kitchen island usually has several vintage pieces occupying the center, but I wanted to create a simple centerpiece for Spring.
Therefore, all the original pieces were moved elsewhere to make room for an oversized breadboard. Next, a handcrafted woven basket vase is filled with gathered twigs and faux flowers.
Finally, a thrifted bunny tureen, cabbage leaf bowls, and a vintage green bowl filled with preserved moss decor are used to complete the centerpiece.
The centerpiece vignette mixes new, foraged, thrifted, and vintage to complete the country chic design.

More Kitchen Decorating Ideas
Another recent DIY project is the copper spice rack which was added to hold the vintage spice bottles.
Moving some of my larger wooden pieces to the area above the kitchen cabinet refreshed that area for Spring. For more tips, you can see these additional ideas for decorating above kitchen cabinets.
When the farmhouse was first built, we began with neutral colors, including natural wood tones mixed with whites, gray and black.
However, recently I added a pop of color by painting the DIY Kitchen Island green. The color choice was inspired by the chippy green paint original to the old pantry door.
I’m often asked what the color is, and I wish I knew.
I mixed so many paint colors that I completely lost track of the exact mixture.
The island’s paint color works well with the natural wood of the original cabinet.
In addition, the farmhouse kitchen is full of texture, including the shiplap walls, a beaded board ceiling, and a brick backsplash.
Another favorite feature is the chippy pantry door which adds a rustic, unique focal point to the space.
Open Shelving for Country Farmhouse Style
The open shelving is a favorite area to display collected cutting boards, more vintage copper, and ironstone.
I’ve recently started collecting some pieces of silver and felt the silver urn and bowl would help to brighten the kitchen for Spring.
Dining with Country Chic Decor
The dining area combines a natural wood cabinet with a painted dining table for a mix-and-match country chic design.
I love to add collectibles to the honey pine antique hutch and DIY plate rack.
A treasured thrift store basket and antique crock add a simple vignette to the cabinet top.
The plate rack is designed to allow layers of ironstone platters over breadboards and vintage wooden bowls filled with plates and silverware.
More storage is also created with copper hanging from the rack with S hooks.
In addition, a trio of vintage crocks lines the wall next to the hutch and can be utilized for more storage if needed.
Next is the dining table set for Easter with thrift store vintage plates and a lamb theme. This year’s table was so budget-friendly and is one of my favorites.

Finally, the dining area is completed with a natural wood card catalog repurposed with a painted leg base.
Its position beside the dining table is perfect for a wine bar or beverage serving area.
Modern Farmhouse with Country Chic Style
From this view, you can see that the farmhouse has an open floor plan, and all the areas flow into one another.
Therefore using the Country Chic mix and match of textures and styles keeps all the spaces interesting and unique.
