A Conan Exiles Archpriest guide will help you devote yourself to your religion by learning from their human leaders. Archpriests are T4 Priest thralls that can make special items and summon avatars. Something I’ve only done once, right before I took off my bracelet, but it made me feel like I was on top of the world.

A couple of years ago, there was a difference between an Archpriest, High Priest, and other T4 Priests. The Archpriests were the only ones that could summon Avatars or cast rituals. They also weren’t named and, at one point, only found in Purges.

Conan Exiles Archpriest Guide: Get Yourself a Zealot - Conan Fanatics (3)

But now, there are no differences in the T4 thralls, and they do spawn in the wild with names. Any T4 can do this, so you don’t need to find an Archpriest, but you do need to make sure your Priest is T4. They are rare, so happening upon one is unlikely.

Conan Exiles Archpriest Overview

  • There are eight gods in Conan Exiles, but only seven have Archpriests
  • Crom requires no worship, so he has no priest
  • Confessor, Guardian, and Seneschal are the three types of Archpriests
  • Archpriests and other T4 Priests are no longer different
  • You don’t need a T4 Priest to craft anything except rituals and avatar items

Every Archpriest and T4 Priest in Conan Exiles

Conan Exiles Archpriest Guide: Get Yourself a Zealot - Conan Fanatics (4)

Each type of T4 Priest in Conan Exiles can only spawn at certain locations. Most archpriests only spawn during purges, but there is at least one location for each religion that you can head to when there isn’t a purge.

Derketo

Conan Exiles Archpriest Guide: Get Yourself a Zealot - Conan Fanatics (5)

Derketo is a religion that is all about pleasure. The worshippers’ main base is at Pagoda of the Boundless Lusts, where you will find the religion teacher Yakira, Priestess of Derketo.

Stathem the Embalmer

  • NPC Health – 825
  • NPC Armor – 601
  • Damage Reduction – 54%
  • Location – Flotsam
  • Always Thrallable – No

Stathem the Elmabler was a former Derketo Priest that spawned at Flotsam during the Grave Matter event, which is now permanent. He may return during new events, but he is not a regular priest. In fact, he was initially an Overseer.

Shala the Lust-Slaker and Begra the Blessed

  • NPC Health – 165
  • NPC Armor – 51
  • Damage Reduction – 9%
  • Location – Purge: band of desperate exiles and Zealots of Mitra
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type – Confessor

Shala the Lust-Slaker and Begra the Blessed (different name, same thrall) are a lesser priest that you can’t get under normal circ*mstances. You must have your base in the desert for a chance to spawn her with your best chance being above the Unnamed City.

Seer Sso and Seer Pilir

  • NPC Health – 825
  • NPC Armor – 601
  • Damage Reduction – 54%
  • Location – Purge: A cabal of Votaries of Skelos
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type – Seneschal and Guardian

The Seers are one of the best Derketo thralls you can get. To get her to spawn, you need to have a base in the volcano because she will only spawn if the Votaries of Skelos purge is activated.

Diviner Enea and Arrot the Clairvoyant

  • NPC Health – 300
  • NPC Armor – 111
  • Damage Reduction – 18%
  • Location – Purge: A gang of degenerate Lemurians, Dagon Slave-takers, and aband of Lemurian Scouts
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type – Confessor and Seneschal

These two thralls have the same spawns and stats. The only difference is their name and type. For a purge thrall, they are fairly weak but if you have the means and it isn’t too dangerous, you can lure them out with a jungle base.

Pagoda of the Boundless Lust Priest

  • NPC Health – 300
  • NPC Armor – 111
  • Damage Reduction – 18%
  • Location – Pagoda of the Boundless Lusts
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type – Seneschal, Confessor, and Guardian

These Priests share a spawn and stats. They are the only Derketo T4s that spawn in the wild. Upon death, they drop Tablet of Derketo. But if you find one of them, thralling them is your best bet because of how rare they are.

Possible Names:

  • Menhas, Walker of the Path
  • Ketmet the Whisperer
  • Jaden Rousch the Epiphaneous
  • Haur the Devoted
  • Espel the Glorious
  • Diviner Enea

In the Game Coding, Doesn’t Spawn Anywhere

  • High Priestess Shira
  • High Priestess Ch’et

Jhebbal Sag

Conan Exiles Archpriest Guide: Get Yourself a Zealot - Conan Fanatics (6)

Jhebbal Sag is a primal religion known as Lord of the Beasts. They are most often located in the Den. But to get the religion, you must head to the Midnight Grove dungeon.

Akon the Bloodletter

  • NPC Health – 255
  • NPC Armor – 51
  • Damage Reduction – 9%
  • Location – Purge: horde of Dafari cannibals, disciples of Jhebbal Sag
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type – Guardian

Akon the Bloodletter will only spawn if you have your base north of the Unnamed City or in the desert north of the river. That’s when the purge with him may attack your base.

Lapu the Caller, or Una the Venerated

  • NPC Health – 255
  • NPC Armor – 51
  • Damage Reduction – 9%
  • Location – Purge: a cackle of Hyenas, horde of Dafari cannibals, disciples of Jhebbal Sag
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type – Seneschal or Confessor

Stick to the desert for a chance to have Lapu or Una attack your base. His stats are just like Akon the Bloodletter, so he’s not the best purge thrall but if you can catch him, then it’s free real estate.

Koros the Feral and Parin the Blood-Moon

  • NPC Health – 255
  • NPC Armor – 51
  • Damage Reduction – 9%
  • Location – The Den
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Guardian and Seneschal

These two are the only Jhebbal Sag priests you can get that aren’t purge priests. To find them, head to the Den, where they are under the rafters near a campfire, but their spawn chance is low.

In Game Coding, but Doesn’t Spawn

  • Chosen of Jhebbal-Sag

Mitra

Conan Exiles Archpriest Guide: Get Yourself a Zealot - Conan Fanatics (7)

Mitra is my go-to deity because I get into the roleplay side of Conan Exiles, and she seems the least horrible. She is a benevolent god with one huge downfall; she expects you to crush those who don’t worship her.

Barram the Faithful, Mene Faithbringer

  • NPC Health – 165
  • NPC Armor – 51
  • Damage Reduction – 9%
  • Location – Purge: band of desperate exiles, Zealots of Mitra
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Confessor, Guardian

Barram and Mene only spawn during certain purges and drop Precepts of Mitra upon death. But to spawn them, you need to live in the desert or the area above the Unnamed City.

Edric the Holy, Egil of the True Faith

  • NPC Health – 330
  • NPC Armor – 101
  • Damage Reduction – 16%
  • Location – Purge: gang of roaming pirates, crew of Black Hand pirates
  • Always Thrallable
  • Type– Guardian, Seneschal

Edric and Egil can actually spawn anywhere via the Gang of Roaming Pirates purge. But they spawn more often near the Black Galleon via the Crew of Black Hand Pirates purge.

Ivasel the Sacred, Mikri

  • NPC Health – 360
  • NPC Armor – 101
  • Damage Reduction – 16%
  • Location – Purge: crew of Black Hand Pirates, Razor Gords Kitchen Staff
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Confessor, Seneschal

Ivasel and Mikri have unique purge spawn points. They are pirates and can spawn almost anywhere in the jungle, but you are more likely to have them attack in the northern jungle and swampy area.

Lethdol Twox, Speak of Asura, Vattende Confessor of Asura

  • NPC Health – 165
  • NPC Armor – 51
  • Damage Reduction – 9%
  • Location – Sinner’s Refuge, Mitra’s Serenity
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Confessor, Guardian

Lethdol Twox and Vattende are at the end of Sinner’s Refuge or Mitra’s Serenity. Despite the name, Vattende is not a Confessor. Though their stats aren’t good either, they are the only Mitra priests you don’t have to be in a purge to thrall.

Mitra Priests in Coding, but Don’t Spawn

  • Ansgar the Faithful
  • Thiera the Faithful
  • Mitra’s Chosen

Set

Conan Exiles Archpriest Guide: Get Yourself a Zealot - Conan Fanatics (8)

Set is a serpent god who protects outcasts and has the most T4 priests. His followers sacrifice hearts to gain his power. He is the enemy of Mitra, often depicted as evil, whereas Mitra is depicted as good. Set’s religion trainer is at Mek-kamoses’s Spire.

Amn’Ut the Blessed

  • NPC Health – 825
  • NPC Armor – 601
  • Damage Reduction – 54%
  • Location – Sepermeru
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Guardian

Amn’Ut the Blessed is the best Set Priest to thrall because he often spawns at Spermeru. Sometimes he’s at the Temple Quarter, and sometimes, he’s at the Westwall. He’s not always on the map, but he is a lot.

Elles the Medium, Viis of the Divine Scales

  • NPC Health – 825
  • NPC Armor – 601
  • Damage Reduction – 54%
  • Location –Purge: cabal of Votaries of Skelos
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Guardian, Seneschal

If you build in the volcano, you’re bound to get some amazing T4 purge thralls. But it’s a dangerous area, nd there’s no guarantee that a certain purge will spawn, so it’s a roll of the dice to get the Set priests.

Enaro of the Slithering Doom, Strab the Herald

  • NPC Health – 330
  • NPC Armor – 101
  • Damage Reduction – 16%
  • Location – Purge: gang of roaming bandits, crew of Black Hand pirates
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Seneschal, Confessor

Enaro and Strab are middle-ground Set priests. They can spawn almost anywhere but if you have a base near the Black Galleon then there’s a high chance that the nxt purge will have one of them.

Hoshun the Fang

  • NPC Health – 825
  • NPC Armor – 601
  • Damage Reduction – 54%
  • Location – Temple Quarter
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Seneschal

Hoshun the Fang is one of the only priests with a unique drop. If you kill him, he drops Daggers of a Thousand Bits, and it’s the only way to get them. So this is one of the only Priests I recommend killing.

Mulai the Secret Keeper, Nasa the Unholy

  • NPC Health – 360
  • NPC Armor – 101
  • Damage Reduction – 16%
  • Location – Purge: crew of Black Hand Pirates, Razor Gords Kitchen Staff
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Confessor, Guardian

This is another purge set that can spawn almost anywhere, so you can’t control whether you get them or not. However, a base in the jungle is your best bet, as that’s where the pirates spawn most often.

Onun of the Scales, Volmaris the Righteous

  • NPC Health – 165
  • NPC Armor – 51
  • Damage Reduction – 9%
  • Location – Purge: band of desperate pirates, Zealots of Mitra
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Seneschal, Confessor

Onun and Volmaris have the basic desert spawn, as they are bands of pirates who somehow spawn when Mitra servants do. I’m not sure why it works this way, but I’m guessing it’s some priest spawn thing.

Patep the Soothsayer, Thaumaturge Ptah-Mun

  • NPC Health – 825
  • NPC Armor – 601
  • Damage Reduction – 54%
  • Location – Purge: Relic Hunter Scouts, raid of Relic Hunters
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Confessor, Guardian

Patep and Ptah-Mun are extremely good for Priests. But that is earned because they only spawn near Sepermeru during a purge. These purges are difficult so if you can catch one out, then you earned it.

Coded But Doesn’t Spawn

  • Adris of the True Faith
  • Guzala the Worshipful
  • Setankmek the Bloody
  • Zoara the Savior

Ymir

Conan Exiles Archpriest Guide: Get Yourself a Zealot - Conan Fanatics (9)

Ymir is a unique god of war and storms, worshipped by the Frost Giants. In fact, Frost Giants are said to be the male children of Ymir, but he only had one female child, Atali, with siren-like powers.

Abama the Frostbitten, Sikuh the Chosen

  • NPC Health – 165
  • NPC Armor – 51
  • Damage Reduction – 9%
  • Location – Purge: band of desperate pirates, Zealots of Mitra
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Seneschal

Abama and Sikuh are low-tier Ymir priests. They spawn in the desert, or the clump of purge spawns north of the Unnamed City. Both of them are Senschal, which is rare for shared spawns.

Anastera the Seeress

  • NPC Health – 525
  • NPC Armor – 401
  • Damage Reduction – 44%
  • Location – New Asagarth
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Seneschal

Anastera the Seeress is the only Ymir T4 Priest that can spawn in the wild anytime. If you want to find her, head to New Asagarth and search the city, which is a good place to find all types of thralls.

Boreanaz the Shrouded

  • NPC Health – 825
  • NPC Armor – 601
  • Damage Reduction – 54%
  • Location – Cursed Mound during event
  • Always Thrallable – No

The Grave Matter event is now permanent, but it is different than it was in 2022. Boreneaz is now a Priest rather than a taskmaster, and he doesn’t have special skills, but he still has amazing stats.

Augurer Dewain, Drem the Occultist, Stormcaller

  • NPC Health – 645
  • NPC Armor – 301
  • Damage Reduction – 37%
  • Location – Purge: Forgotten Clan, clan of Cimmerian Beast Tamers
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Confessor, Guardian

Dewain, Drem, and Stormcaller are all good purge Priests that spawn near Mounds of the dead and in the snow to the west of the volcano. They can spawn elsewhere, but are much less common.

Hrogert of the Frozen North, Lot Frostspeaker

  • NPC Health – 525
  • NPC Armor – 401
  • Damage Reduction – 44%
  • Location – Purge: Vanir Hunters, Vanir Chieftain, Nordheimers, wolves
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Seneschal, Guardian

Hrogert and Lot are snow thralls that spawn during purges. They have many spawn points, but the best way to get them to spawn is build a base around New Asagarth as that’s where their spawns overlap.

Yog

Conan Exiles Archpriest Guide: Get Yourself a Zealot - Conan Fanatics (10)

Yog is the god of Empty Abodes. He is worshiped by cannibal tribes, granting strength when hunting. His followers must abide by the cannibal laws and participate in rituals to gain this strength.

D’aar the Touched, Sensha God-Touched

  • NPC Health – 255
  • NPC Armor – 51
  • Damage Reduction – 9%
  • Location – Purge: Hyenas, Dafari cannibals
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Seneschal, Confessor

D’arr and Sensha only spawn in the purges that occur when you build a base above the river in the desert. They are starter purges but slightly stronger than the exile purge or Zealots of Mitra.

Gezhe the Blasphemer, Kursk the Flesheater, Redil Heart-render

  • NPC Health – 165
  • NPC Armor – 51
  • Damage Reduction – 9%
  • Location – Purge: desperate exiles, Zealots of Mitra
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Confessor, Seneschal

We are back to the standard desert purge spawn with this trio. They are not worth it unless you happen upon them and it’s an easy capture because otherwise, other options on the list are better.

Isthis the Witch, Kalish the Masked, S’ton the Shaman

  • NPC Health – 825
  • NPC Armor – 601
  • Damage Reduction – 54%
  • Location – Purge: Votaries of Skelos
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Guardian

This is the strongest set of Yog Priests, all Guardians. You must live in the volcano for a chance for them to spawn during the Skelos purge. But it will be worth it if you have your eyes set on a Yog Priest.

Zath

Conan Exiles Archpriest Guide: Get Yourself a Zealot - Conan Fanatics (11)

Zath is a god of the Zamorias who represents purity. Those who follow him are not allowed to drink, gamble, or do other things. Instead, they devote their lives to raising Zath’s children. His religion trainer is at Weaver’s Hollow.

Nydal the Spinner, Serka of the Silk

  • NPC Health – 165
  • NPC Armor – 51
  • Damage Reduction – 9%
  • Location – Mitra’s Serenity, Sinner’s Refuge
  • Always Thrallable – Yes
  • Type– Guardian, Confessor

These are the only Zath Priests that spawn in the game. They don’t regularly spawn in purges and instead have two spawn points that are similar to the natural Mitra Priest spawns.

In Game But Doesn’t Spawn

  • Gretchen the Weaver
  • Lar the Loadbearer
  • Rian the Poisonous

The Three Types of Priests in Conan Exiles

Conan Exiles Archpriest Guide: Get Yourself a Zealot - Conan Fanatics (12)

There are three types of T4 Priests in Conan Exiles, each giving different boosts to what you make in the altar. They don’t have any other differences, such as recipes and thrall stats.

Confessor

  • Damage Bonus – 22.2%
  • Armor Pen – 0%
  • Durability Bonus – 30.5%
  • Weight Decrease – 12.5%

Seneschal

  • Damage Bonus – 5.6%
  • Armor Pen – 6%
  • Durability Bonus – 22.2%
  • Weight Decrease – 1%

Guardian

  • Damage Bonus – 5.6%
  • Armor Pen – 6%
  • Durability Bonus – 34.5%
  • Weight Decrease – 1%

Conan Exiles Avatars and T4 Rituals

Conan Exiles Archpriest Guide: Get Yourself a Zealot - Conan Fanatics (13)

Each religion’s T4 Priest can make an Avatar and special rituals. This is a good way to decide which religion you want to devote yourself to even though, eventually, you can do all of them.

Derketo

  • Ritual – a shield that protects those in it that only explosives can get through.
  • Avatar – Skeleton Woman that can stomp on buildings and emit black gas that does damage or green gas that heals.

Jhebbal Sag

  • Ritual – a shield that protects those in it that only explosives can get through.
  • Avatar – a manticore that does damage just by floating and tons of damage with attacks.

Mitra

  • Ritual – a shield that protects those in it that only explosives can get through.
  • Avatar – a large statue that hits hard by stomping.

Set

  • Ritual – a shield that protects those in it that only explosives can get through.
  • Avatar – a snake that has a huge AoE.

Ymir

  • Ritual – a shield that protects those in it that only explosives can get through.
  • Avatar – a Frost Giant that does big damage with his axe.

Yog

  • Ritual – a shield that protects those in it that only explosives can get through.
  • Avatar – an eldritch monster that is way too powerful due to his natural AoE.

Zath

  • Ritual – a shield that protects those in it that only explosives can get through.
  • Avatar – a giant spider that does poison damage.

FAQs

Question: Are Archpriests Different Than High Priests?

Answer: Not anymore. They used to be, but now all T4s are the same and can craft the same things. So don’t worry about the name and instead focus on finding any T4 priest.

Question: What is the Best Archpriest in Conan Exiles?

Answer: The best for each deity is different, with multiple identical options. My favorite is Amn’Ut the Blessed because he has good stats and isn’t a purge thrall; he’s just hanging at Sepermeru.

Question: Is Confessor, Senecshcal, or Guardian Better?

Answer: This depends on your needs. I prefer Confessors because they increase damage, and I love melting enemies. However, Seneschal can grant tank abilities. I find the least use for Guardians.

Archpriest Significance in Conan Exiles

The Archpriest is a unique thrall that is good to have at your base. They offer protection and can help you who how loyal you are to your religion. However, they’re not as important as thralls or crafters in my book.

They add to the game, whereas the others are nearly necessary at times.

But I recommend getting one eventually, especially if you see one and have the means because they are rare enough that you may have trouble finding another. So pledge your allegiance and don’t use the other deity emotes in front of the priest.
