Virginia Primrose Elementary School Kitchen Operator Nailly Salib has been recognized for her dedication to fighting child hunger and commitment to supporting school meals, earning a 2024 Hunger Hero Award from the No Kid Hungry national campaign.

It is no secret where MaiKaley Orosco’s passion lies, as the Almeria Middle School student walks into class carrying a box stocked with a lab coat, microscope, and a binder filled with science experiments.

As part of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) legislation, school districts in the State of California are required to develop a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) to guide priorities in the budget development process, and a public hearing on the plan must be held at a regular Board meeting prior to being adopted at a subsequent meeting.

More than 2,800 students in Fontana Unified School District’s Class of 2024 commemorated their milestone achievement of graduation with a myriad of unique, dynamic celebrations, from fist pumps, selfies on stage, shouts into the crowd, and dances, after they walked across the stage to accept their diplomas during their respective commencements.

Fontana Unified School District’s secondary school music programs demonstrated their prowess at the Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) Band & Orchestra Festival, with five school groups earning superior ratings for their talents.

Fontana High School students in the school’s Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) career technical education (CTE) program handmade more than 100 posters, ranging in sizes and sentiments of gratitude, and treated nurses at the Citrus Nursing Center to ice cream, photo opportunities, and a selection of 90’s music, as they recognized National Nurses Week on May 13 and celebrated the hardworking healthcare professionals of the nursing center.

Henry J. Kaiser High School's Catamount Pride Band will showcase their skills before a national audience after being selected to represent Congresswoman Norma Torres (District 35) at the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington D.C. on May 27.

Fontana High School senior Lucia Otanez was a little nervous as she gathered with her classmates for an assembly to announce which FOHI seniors had the top-10 grade point averages, but the tension was interrupted by an Amazon delivery of a large package. After sharing a laugh about the delay with her classmates, Otanez was in for a big surprise.
