Ymir is a Titan, known as the fearsome Ice Titan. After the defeat of Malistaire Drake, Kol Shadowsong and the Coven attempted to awaken and anger Ymir to make him bring on the Everwinter, an apocalyptic event. Their plot was eventually foiled by the Wizard, who fought the Sons of Ymir (Nordri, Austri, Sudri, and Vestri) in order to stop the Coven from carrying out their plans. A son of Bartleby and a member of one of the three ancient Titan species, Ymir is one of the most powerful beings in the universe.
Not long after his creation, Ymir was involved in the Titan War, a long and brutal war between the three species of Titan that ended with the destructon of the First World. Like the Storm Titan and Dragon Titan, Ymir has remained in slumber since the war ended, which was a spell put on them by Bartleby in order to prevent any further destruction of the universe. After the war ended, the pieces left over from the First World were bound together by Bartleby and Grandmother Raven using both of their magic combined as well as a Borealis Seam.

Biography[]
Creation and the Titan War[]
After everything became calm following the creation of the First World, Bartleby sang theSong of Creation, which put the three types ofTitansinto existence; theDragons, the rulers of the Earth, theGiants, the rulers of the Sky, and theTritons, the rulers of the Sea. These three elder races later became the basis forRavenwood School of Magical Arts' schools ofFire,Ice, andStorm. They didn't get along, and the problems only continued. The Giants stole water from the Tritons' Sea to build their castles of ice, the Tritons battered the Dragon's Earth with endless storms, and the Dragons summoned fires to melt the Giants' ice castles. The Titans just couldn't stop fighting, and so theTitan Warbegun. The endless fighting eventually broke all of the First World into many fragments that went flying into the cosmos.
Creation of the Spiral and the Titans' Sleep[]
Surveying the destruction caused by the Titan War, Grandmother Raven and Bartleby came up with a way to patch the pieces back together. Using Raven's magic, Bartleby's roots, and the Sky Anchor to piece the parts together, they bound it into a galaxy with a Borealis Seam that they called "The Spiral".
Because of the extensive damage they caused, Bartleby put all of his children into an eternal sleep. Ymir fell asleep in the realm of Jotengard, and has remained there ever since.
