When people think of the biggest names in streaming, names like KaiCenat, xQc, or Ninjacome to mind. All of these streamers have spent time as some of the most popular live streamers and content creators in the industry, and yet they have all been dethroned by a 21-year-old from Florida.
MeetJynxzi, theRainbow Six Siegegamer who has taken Twitch by storm. Jynxzi’s story is one that’s rare to see at the top of the Twitch game. He didn’t become the most-subscribed streamer on Twitch through a subathon, nor a huge real-life event bringing the top streamers together, and not even starting drama with another big streamer for views. Jynxzi is the story of a streamer that simply showed up almost daily to go live and put in the hard work and effort to build up his community.
Jynxzi’s early days
Jynxzi didn’t immediately blossom into Twitch fame, but rather started as most would-be streamers do, streaming to a small audience and trying to consistently build up a successful community. He started streaming on Twitch in 2019 and according to Streams Charts’ database, he averaged4 viewersfor the entire year. His Peak Viewers? 23. By the end of the year he had started to gain some traction and built up a Twitch following of 270 fans.
Although he was not receiving the immediate attention which streamers dream of, he stayed consistent and diligent in his streaming habit, accumulating over500hours of Airtime throughout the entire year. Jynxzi is the ultimate proof that it doesn’t matter what or how you stream on Twitch, what’s most important is that you stay consistent and build up your own personal audience over the years.

2020 saw the streamer continue to gain traction and towards the last couple of months of 2020, his channel began to take off. Between October 2020 and January 2021, he went from100 Average Viewersto about500.
2020 also marked the year when Jynxzi branched out from Twitch to continue to grow his brand and channel. He started a YouTube and TikTok account where he uploads stream highlights and other clips to enhance his viewership. On TikTok, he has accumulated2.8M followerson the platform and collected98.9M Likesfrom his raving fanbase.
In 2021, his most-watched stream was hisbirthday marathon stream, which was live for 20 hours in total. During this time he averaged 943 viewers and received18.8K Hours Watched. Other popular content for the streamer during this time included his high-level Rainbow Six Siege gameplay. The streamer plays at the top level of Rainbow’s in-game ranked system and was among the top-rated players worldwide for Xbox.
Interestingly, Jynxzi is not only one of the most popular streamers on the platform but one of the most popular streamers to stay exclusively a console player. He isn’t the stereotypical streamer with a quad-monitor setup, thousands of dollars worth of peripherals and other gizmos. His stream is a simple game capture of his Xbox and a webcam feed of him wearing his gaming headset. No need for ring lights or DLR cameras, Jynxzi proved that content is king on Twitch, not how much money you can spend on your setup.
Rise to fame
2021 and 2022 were stable years for the American streamer. He consistently drew in roughly a thousand viewers per stream and his follower count was slowly building. Across the two years, he received hundreds of thousands of new followers, and by the end of 2022 he had reached the 400K Followers mark on Twitch. Ultimately, his big break came at the start of 2023, where his viewership seemingly exploded overnight coming into the new year. By January of 2023, he had already reached500K Followers, and only four months later this doubled to 1M Followers.

In December 2022, he reached a personal record of 436K hours of watch time from his fans and he continued to consistently reach personal records. In January of 2023, Jynxzi received953Khours of watch time from his fans and February marked another huge uptick for the Floridian streamer, as he received almost 1M more hours of watch time: a total of 1.93M Hours Watchedfor the month. What’s interesting about Jynxzi’s explosive growth is that his content has relatively speaking stayed the same.

Why did Jynxzi explode in popularity despite his content remaining exclusively Rainbow Six Siege? Firstly, having a large viewership helps streamers to grow their viewership exponentially. Having a large fanbase to repost and share your content, not only through Twitch clips but also from your YouTube channel and TikTok helps creators to grow in size. The algorithm for sites like TikTok and YouTube also favours larger creators and helps them to get more impressions on their content. Finally, Jynxzi also made slight changes to the exact type of content he delivers to Twitch.
Before 2023, his content was almost exclusively focused on Rainbow Six Siege gameplay. He would stream himself either playing the in-game ranked mode or he would stream 1v1s and other minor events and or tournaments to his channel. Nowadays, he still focuses on Rainbow Six Siege content but he has made room for other content alongside this, such as hosting tournaments and reacting to community clips. Just last week, Jynxzi hosted a $10K USD Xbox tournamentfor his favourite shooting game, reaching over 400K Hours Watched for the stream.
He has also branched out into more long-form and serial content: such as his race from the bottom ranks of the in-game ranked gamemode for Rainbow Six Siege to the top pedestal of the game’s ranks. Serial content, in contrast to episodic content, can help streamers to build consistent viewership over time as viewers become invested in the series. His streams of him reacting to community clips and moments have also become some of his most popular content for 2023.
Jynxzi’s subscriptions
Jynxzi’s explosion in popularity for 2023 culminated in mid-April when he officially became the most-subscribed content creator on Twitch, at the time overtaking xQc and KaiCenat. He officially became the most-subscribed creator at roughly 75K Subscriptions, and he posted a picture to Twitter in April of this year, showing off100.2Ksubscribers.
Jynxzi was live on Twitch during the exact moment he realised that he had become the king of Twitch. His genuine reaction was caught on stream as he exclaimed:
“Chat. I just hit number one on Twitch, bro. Yo, this is like, I'm like, shaking, bro! Oh my god, bro! Chat, I just hit number one on Twitch, bro. I just hit number one on Twitch, bro.”
As of August 2023, Jynxzi has reached a peak of 112.7K Subscriptionsto his Twitch channel, a majority of which are new subscriptions to his channel: Streams Charts estimates57.5% of the total subscriber count. This does mean Jynxzi will have to maintain a steady stream of new subscribers to the channel to retain his number one spot. It looks highly probable for the streamer to maintain a high amount of incoming subscriptions in the future; since becoming the top-ranking streaming in mid-April, he has seen a 50% increase in his total subscriber count.
18.7% of his current subscribers are fans who have been subscribed to him for multiple months and 23.8% of his total subscriptions were gifted to him by other fans, which equals an estimated 26.8K Gifted Subscriptions.
Prime Subscriptions are also a powerful tool for streamers. Amazon Prime sponsored subscriptions allow fans to subscribe to their favourite streamer for no extra cost on the fans’ part. Currently, over an estimated 42% of Jynxzi’s total subscribers used their Prime Subscriptions. Jynxzi touched on his 2023 rise to success and encapsulated his journey from four average viewers in 2019 to becoming one of the biggest internet celebrities of the year:
“Like, day in and day out, bro. Day in, day f**king out. Never missing streams, dude. Started brick by brick, bro. Like, f**king one viewer for like a year, bro! Year and a half. Getting, you know what I mean. No type of like, no type of progress. And then it kind of started going. So I get five viewers. Six viewers. Seven viewers. And just never ever stopping, bro!”
Jynxzi has officially made it. Starting out in 2019 as a small-scale Rainbow Six Siege fan, he has since built up his community slowly and steadily over the years through his dedication to streaming and inability to give up. He’s become the top-subscribed streamer on Twitch and all we can say is that he’s earned it.
