When you to the store, take a deep breath and take your time. Thrifting and antiquing are labors of love, and it can take quite some time to find a perfect piece. And if you see something you like, but it needs a little TLC, pick it up and make plans for repair!

Soft Lighting is Key
When it comes to lighting, LaVergne says that fairy grunge calls for softness. Light fixtures made of natural materials like jute, rattan, and silk will bring an easy-on-the-eyes, ethereal touch, and elegant, vintage light fixtures will add a bit of edge. And if you’re looking for a more hard-core take on fairy grunge, industrial-style fixtures made of metal will do the trick.
For a low-commitment space refresh, have an electrician install dimmers on your wired fixtures so you can temper the feeling of your space. Plus, be sure to use warm light bulbs in all of your fixtures for a cozy and inviting look. Finish off the space with a few well-placed candles to evoke warmth and channel the ultimate fairy vibe.
