Special equipment MASSEY FERGUSON is a very reliable technique and rarely fails. But even she sometimes breaks down. There is a very unpleasant situation when the MASSEY FERGUSON engine stalled and does not want to start. In this case, a message with the corresponding description of the error code of the malfunction will light up on the instrument panel display. But there are also exceptions when errors are not highlighted. The specialists of our company have accumulated solid experience in the diagnosis and repair of the described malfunctions. There are two radically different options for "not starting" the engine:

  • When turning the key in the ignition lock, the starter turns the excavator engine
  • The starter does not turn on and does not turn the engine

HISTORY OF MASSEY FERGUSON

The history of Massey Ferguson began in 1847, in a Canadian town (Newcastle). The company was founded by a novice entrepreneur D. Massie and had the name Newcastle Foundry, still unknown to anyone. The company began designing and assembling mechanized combines, using parts and mechanisms from the United States in its production, but later switched to its own autonomous machine production.

In 1879, the management of the company passed into the hands of Hart Massy (son of Daniel Massy). Under his leadership, the company expands the range of manufactured products and relocates to Toronto, where it becomes one of the main employers. A year later, the company reached new heights and was able to enter the international agricultural machinery market.

In 1991 the company merged with two large conglomerates A. Harris and Son & Co. Ltd, which resulted in the formation of a new company called Massey-Harris Co.

The concern has become the largest supplier of agricultural machinery in Britain. Massey-Harris expands its product line and launches production of bicycles.

In 1910, the American firm Johnson Harvester Co joined MH, making the company one of the first multinational enterprises in Canada.

During this period, the lineup included such models as: GP, Pacemaker, Pony, Massey-Harris 20, Massey-Harris 101, etc.

From the same year, the company decided to switch to the production of agricultural tractors using a gasoline engine. Within 10 years, the company was able to achieve success in the operation of its gasoline power units. In 1930, the company presents the first self-propelled harvester of its production.

Throughout the history of its existence, the company has made a lot of revolutionary inventions in its industry (production of 4-wheeled tractors, the use of a steam engine, etc.)

All of Hart's children were actively involved in their father's business and, subsequently, took their place of honor of the leadership of the company. However, they represented the last generation of the family involved in the family business - the descendants of Massy decided not to take the reins into their own hands, but decided to test their strengths in politics, cinema and other industries not related to the production of agricultural machinery. Some of them have received recognition in their field.

1953 was marked for the company by merging with the Ferguson Company. The company gets its new name - Massey-Harris-Ferguson. And in five years the enterprise acquires its current name, familiar to everyone.

The company brings together two production lines and dealer networks. Through one of the iconic advertising campaigns, Massey Ferguson is finding its new and recognizable symbol: an upbeat song with a recognizable theme: "Massey-Ferguson kind of a man". However, media success was not a guarantee of a stable financial condition, which left much to be desired. The firm had to fight for its place in the international market as the competition increased every month.

In 1955, a decision was made to acquire the Australian company Australian H.V. McKay, which produced the world famous Sunshine brand. Since 1930, the company has been the official dealer of Massey equipment throughout the Australian continent. The next acquisition was Landini, Italy. In 1959, Massey-Harris became the sole owner of the company's shares. With the help of Landini schemes, a large number of manufactured equipment was designed.

In the 70s, K. Black took the presidency of Massey-Ferguson. At the end of the decade, production is relocated to Ontario, Brantford. In 1978, the company introduces the first electronic system on tractors.

In 1981, Black donated part of his shares to pay factory workers a quarter of a billion in wage arrears.

By 1992, Massey-Ferguson was part of the Fermec concern, which was acquired by J.I. Case in 1997. Despite financial and operational difficulties, the company sold 25% more products than its main competitors.

Today Massey-Ferguson manufactures the following series of tractors: 8600 (limited edition), 5400 (limited edition), 5600, 6600, 7700 and 8700.

In June 2012, Agco's Jackson, Minnesota subsidiary expanded to begin production of Massey Ferguson and comparable AGCO Challenger models for the North American market.

The legendary company has experienced ups and downs, however, and now Massey-Ferguson remains the benchmark business card of quality tractors, combines and other agricultural equipment. Tradition carried over decades and competent company management are the keys to Massey-Ferguson's success.
