I’ve never boiled a lasagne sheet, just layer it in flat in a lasagne and stack up the sauces.

I think so recipes specify that from a different time…

Fresh egg pasta is definitely no boil, you'd end up with a yellow sauce if you boiled them them cooked them.
The lasagne itself will need less baking time with fresh pasta.

If there is enough moisture in the mince/vegetables/bechamel, there is no need to pre-boil the sheets! make sure the very top layer isn't a lasagne sheet too. I top it with bechamal then grated cheese.

Just bung the dry pasta sheets in the lasagne, the sauces do the job.

I used to pre boil the pasta sheets until I read I should assemble and leave for a few hours before putting it in the oven.

Yep, basically all dry lasagne sheets are no boil nowadays. Check the instructions on the side of the box to make sure.

I just use fresh pasta. Nicer and easier!

M & S do good dry pasta sheets. Just layer them on.

I don't think you can buy lasagna sheets you need to precook in the UK. In the US you often get them.

I don't think this is true - I make lasagne from scratch quite regularly and it is best to cook the sheets for a minute in boiling water before you assemble. It stops any of the pasta becoming mushy.

I'm in Italy and we definitely do not boil any lasagne sheets fresh or otherwise.

I've never heard of boiling the sheets!

Just build the layer and stick it in the oven, it takes about 40 minutes to get a lovely golden top anyway, in which time the pasta cooks.

You only have to look at something like Pasta Grannies on Youtube @Geamhradh to see that many Italians, living in Italy, do boil their lasagne sheets though. It's as much of a debate as the milk/ tea first question.

I thought they were all generally no boil but I much prefer the fresh lasagna sheets to the dried ones. They are already soft so your lasagne will cook faster.
