Yes! I eat the cookie dough, but once I add the baking soda or powder I try not to eat any more, because I always feel funky after that. So, I’ll add it at the wrong step if the dough is tasting really good, just so I have more to eat! 🙂

My boyfriend picked up a tub of GF chocolate chip cookie dough at the store yesterday and I told him to put it back because it wouldn’t even make it back to the house before I’d start eating it by the spoonful.

I see both sides. I like cookie dough, so I can understand people obsessing over it. But I also can only eat so much before I become a little repulsed, so I can understand people not liking it.
I think being in the middle is great. I almost always eat cookie dough when I bake, so I’m not missing out on that pleasure. But I usually save the eating for the final scrapings, so I don’t end up with only three quarters of the cookies that the recipe was supposed to make. 😀 Win-win!

Hi Katie,
I had a baby 6 months ago and I trying to be careful about the amount of chemicals and other junk I put in my body (for me and him). I recently stumbled across your blog and spend much of my day drooling over your recipes. And sometimes drooling over the things I make from your recipes, and hoping my husband will be too weirded out by the ingredients to want to share.
I noticed some of your older recipes don’t yet have full nutritional info (or WW points, for those who follow that method). It would be great if you could go back and update those at some point. You know, for those of us who are too busy chasing after a 6 month old to input the ingredients to caloriecount ourselves! 🙂

You mean some people don’t eat raw cookie dough? Are you sure they are real people? Most of the time I prefer the taste/texture of the raw batter to the baked cookies. I will gladly nominate you for martyr status for your willingness to eat cookie dough for others. It takes special dedication to make that kind of promise and then follow through. 🙂

One question….Would you be interested in creating grain-free recipes? Maybee just a few, here and there? Would be SUPER appriciated! Can’t eat most grains…Cause allergies:(
LOVE your blog……If I haven’t told you before, your blog was the first stepping stone I took to recovering from anorexia! I am completely recovered now, no worries:)Reply

She definitely has MANY grain free recipes on the site. Check out her Zucchini Brownies (made with coconut flour) or the Grain Free sugar cookies. Both of those are two of my favorites. The fudge babies are really good too, as is the cookie dough dip.

Your cookie dough dip is my go to for parties now. When you make it with vegan ingredients instead of traditional dairy it can sit out for hours without any worries. And I have yet to find a group that doesn’t inhale it. 🙂

Um…yes…of course I eat the raw cookie dough! My husband won’t though – I think it is the raw egg that is supposed to be unsafe, but for a healthy individual I think the chance of getting sick from it is really really low (at least I never have…knock on wood).

Yes! First I bake cookies and accidentally eat about a fifth of the dough. Then I wash all my dishes and make an egg-free cookie dough. Then I take my cookie scoop and turn the dough into frozen cookie dough balls and eat about ten a day until I need to repeat the process. And afterwards I make a mug brownie as a bedtime snack. An accidentally drizzle chocolate and caramel syrup all over it. And somehow a little whipped cream got on there. 🙂
