Perfect punch recipes are hard to come by, especially if you don’t want the overpowering flavors of Hawaiian punch. This recipe is perfectly balanced and so delicious!

What Juice to Buy for the Perfect Punch
This punch recipe is made up of three different juice blends plus one optional ingredient!
- Cran-raspberry juice
- Fruit punch (NOT Hawaiian punch)
- Pineapple-Orange juice (or another pineapple juice blend or straight pineapple juice)
- Ginger Ale (optional!)
With the wide variety of juice brands and juice blends out there, it’s likely that every batch may taste just a little bit different, but the overall flavors are perfectly delicious combined together!

Party Punch Formula
After searching high and low for a party punch recipe to make for a wedding last month, I decided I was going to have to come up with my own.
I wanted it to be simple, and I did not like the recipes I tried that had a base of Hawaiian punch. Nothing against that classic drink, but the distinctive flavors WAY overpowered the other juices.
Here’s the formula I tested, and it really is perfect! After serving it to over 250 wedding guests (and hearing all the rave reviews), I can definitely say this is a tried-and-true recipe already!
Party Punch Formula:
- TWO parts fruit punch
- TWO parts cran-raspberry juice
- ONE part pineapple-orange juice
- For every gallon of juice, add 1 to 1 1/2 liters ginger ale depending on how fizzy you want it
Given this formula, the juice can be decreased or increased exponentially depending on where you are serving it!

I’m not affiliated with the Langer’s brand of juice in any way, but I prefer it for this party punch because:
a) it’s easy to find in my local grocery stores and
b) I love the pineapple-orange-guava juice blend
If you can’t find that specific pineapple juice blend, look for another pineapple-orange blend, or use straight pineapple juice.

Pro Tip for Using Fresh Fruit in Punch
For a pretty presentation, add sliced oranges and sliced or whole strawberries to the punch. They will float on top.
Pro tip: DON’T use blueberries, blackberries or other small berries if serving the punch from a drink dispenser. They sink to the bottom and clog the spout. I have learned this (and re-learned this) the hard way, so just trust me, and spare yourself a big headache fishing out small berries from the clogged dispenser while hundreds of people wait in line for juice. 😜
This has become my go-to punch for just about any event! Bridal showers. Baby showers. Weddings. Family reunions. Friend get togethers.
I mean, that makes it sound like I actually leave my house a lot, which I definitely do not, but I do like knowing I COULD make a killer punch for a party if I needed to. This punch is the one!

The Best Party Punch

Ingredients
- 64-ounce jug cran-raspberry juice
- 64-ounce jug fruit punch (NOT Hawaiian Punch)
- 32-ounce jug pineapple-orange juice (see note)
- 1 to 1 ½ liters ginger ale (optional)
Instructions
Combine everything together in a pitcher and serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve. If making ahead, add ginger ale right before serving.
The punch recipe can be increased or decreased as needed using this simple formula: TWO parts cran-raspberry juice to TWO parts fruit punch to ONE part pineapple-orange juice. For every gallon of juice mixed, add 1 to 1 1/2 liters ginger ale, if desired.
Notes
Pineapple-Orange Juice: I usually use Langer’s brand juice because it’s easily found at my local grocery store(s) and I like the taste of the juice blends. My favorite juice to use for the pineapple-orange juice is Langer’s pineapple-orange-guava blend. If you can’t find that, use another pineapple-orange juice blend (or if that blend isn’t available, straight pineapple juice will work).
Ginger Ale: the ginger ale is completely optional, but adds a yummy, fizzy dimension if that’s what you want. You can add more or less ginger ale, to taste.
Fruit Punch: as stated in the ingredient list, Hawaiian Punch is NOT preferred here. The definitive flavor overpowers the entire punch concoction (and not in a good way, in my opinion).

Can I add alcohol to this punch? If so, which one? Thanks

Hi Janet, I’m sure you could – I don’t drink alcohol, so I don’t have any recommendations. Sorry! Feel free to experiment.

I would try malibu or deep eddies lemonade

Can you use seltzer water instead of ginger ale to off set some of the sugar?
-
Mel — Reply
I haven’t tried that, but you could definitely experiment.

i am going to make this for my guest at my son’s engagement party. Can I made it spiked as well? If so what alcohol would be best in this punch

I’m sure you definitely could – I don’t drink alcohol, so I’m not the best person to give a recommendation there…sorry!

Going to make this punch for a party for my father-in-law’s 80th using a drink dispenser. What fruits would you recommend for December besides the orange slices? Do cranberries float? Definitely don’t want to deal with a fruit clogged dispenser incident.
-
Mel — Reply
That’s a good question. I probably wouldn’t recommend cranberries – I *think* they float, but if not, it’s not worth the clogged dispenser. Frozen strawberries would be a good option if you can’t find fresh!

If you were to leave out ginger ale would you replace with water or just completely omit?

You can just leave it out.

Hi, Mel!
My husband is getting ready to retire from the military, and I was thinking to serve this at the reception after his retirement ceremony. I was a little confused about the amounts for ginger ale, though. One part says 1 liter for every gallon of punch mixed, but the recipe says 1 liter ginger ale (and the juice listed would give more than a gallon of punch total). I think. Or is my math totally off? It’s been a long day, and pregnancy brain is also really affecting me today lol!If we have about 90ish guests, would making 4 times the recipe be good, you think? Help! Please!
-
Mel — Reply
Hi Arlene! Congrats to your husband on his retirement! Sorry for the confusion! There is a range listed in the recipe ingredients for the ginger ale (1 to 1 1/2 liters ginger ale). The ginger ale can really be added to taste – anywhere from 1 to 1 1/2 liters for every gallon of juice mixed. I use about 1 liter ginger ale for every gallon of juice. The recipe ingredients for the juice add up to about 1 1/4 gallons juice – so you can use anywhere from 1 to 1 1/2 liters ginger ale depending on how fizzy you want it. Does that make sense? I feel like I just repeated myself a lot, haha, but hopefully that helps. I think for 90 guests, you could do a 3X batch for the bare minimum and a 4X batch to be safe!

Okay, in the process of your repeating it to me, and my relaying it to my husband, I finally had a light bulb moment and understood what you meant in the recipe/comment! Thank you for your patience and help! I appreciate you so much, Mel!
And this is how much I trust you… never tried this punch… yet still, here we are inviting a bunch of close friends, family from out of town, and hubby’s coworkers (I’ve never really met or cooked for them lol)… and making your tried and true recipe! I’m positive it will be delicious! Thanks, Mel!

I can’t wait to try this punch recipe.
The only langers fruit punch I could find at my local stores is blue raspberry fruit punch. Would that taste good? It’s blue so I think the color might look weird?
Have you tried this flavor?-
Mel — Reply
I bet it would taste yummy – but you’re right, the color might be weird? Or maybe it might work? I think it’s totally worth experimenting! I’ve also used the V8 fruit splash in place of the Langer’s fruit punch and it’s yummy too.

I, too, learned the hard way about fruit clogging the dispenser. Pomegranate arils do this also…
This ratio sounds perfect! Now, when can I get together enough people to drink it all? -

That looks wonderful. I can’t say I’m a fan of raspberry anything, but my mother and grandmother (both HUGE raspberry fans, especially turnovers!) had both made a tea punch when I was a kid that contained a small bottle of Zarex raspberry juice (concentrate?), a larger bottle of Welch’s grape juice, about 8 lemons squeezed, and a pot of orange pekoe or black tea, cooled. That had been our main “soft drink” when we were kids, so we were caffeine loaded virtually from birth, because they’d also often given us milk with a splash of tea in our baby bottles too, and as kids we’d had glasses of milk with meals, AND a cup of tea then also. Needless to say, I’d had problems with insomnia as a child! But, tea had been a staple of the culture they’d been raised in, so they’d thought nothing of it. Tea had featured as the be all and cure all of anything that might ail one, plus the beverage of all socializing, as well. “Put the kettle on” were the first words heard when anyone came into our house or any of our relatives’ homes—it was practically a way of life. Curiously, I’ve ended up not being a tea drinker, probably as a result of being given it one too many times as a flu victim!

Yum! Have you tried spiking this punch? If so, any suggestions on the ratio?
-
Mel — Reply
Hi Allison – I haven’t tried that and don’t have a lot of advice in that direction. Sorry! I wonder if googling another alcoholic punch recipe might give a good idea on ratios?
-
Amanda — Reply
I make one spiked and one not. You add about 1c alcohol per bottle of juice so the recipe as it stands would take 3c and you likely wont taste it much. Then you add the ginger ale and its barely noticeable. Depending on your taste for things. I always taste before the ginger ale part and add more if needed. You can always add more but you cant take it away. So that’s the best spot in the process to taste for strength. This is a great recipe to use whatever white liquor you have floating around the cabinets, Vodka, Gin, Rum (not spiced or coconut), or even a blend of those. The punch really masks the type of alcohol and I have even used 75% Gin to 25% Vodka and all the Gin haters never batted an eye or even asked what liquor I used.
