I waited 5 weeks for my $2.6k reclining leather sofa to come in and missed work to be home for its delivery. The window they gave me for delivery was between 2:00-4:00 p.m. on a Friday. I was home and working outside in my yard from 12:00--4:00 p.m., yet no one ever showed up. I received a voicemail telling me that the delivery driver could not locate my address. I called Customer Service by 3:30 p.m. and was told that I would have to reschedule, that the driver was done for the day. Hmm...you have my correct address, but you can't find it, so I need to take another day off of work to receive my purchase? Google Maps marks my address precisely, yet you can't find it? I call you before the end of business to clear up your confusion, yet you cannot accommodate my scheduled delivery? There are too many high quality furniture companies who can deliver product to the customer as promised. I will not buy another stick of furniture from Havertys.

I was redecorating a condo and needed a dining room table and chairs and a sofa. We purchased both from Haverty's and when the sofa came and they removed a quilt that was protecting it, it was covered with lint. They did nothing to remove it so we worked on it and it was would not all come off. It seemed like the lint was glued to the fabric. I called Haverty's to complain and all they said was get a razor blade and try to remove it myself. So for the past 3 years the sofa has looked shabby because of the lint and now the piping or cording around the cushions has become wavey and doesn't look straight. Altho it is only 3 years old, I am having to replace it because it looks like garbage. I am not going to buy furniture at Haverty's again. They should have at least come out to see the sofa right after it was delivered but they wouldn't. I had purchased a lot of furniture there 11 years ago and their customer service was much more responsive then.

I purchased a sectional sofa from Haverty's and it was poor quality. First of all, it took 5 months to get the sofa after I ordered it, and It is not the Haverty's standard. I've only had the sofa 4 months and the cushions are already starting to lose their shape. I had to buy batting and restuff my cushions. Customer service has refused to do anything because they basically implied that one 173 pound person sitting on a sofa for 4 months will cause the cushions to lose their shape. I would call that a CHEAP sofa. Looks like I’m stuck with a subpar sectional.

**Manufacturer's warranty is a scam! Quality is Poor. **Added Protection doesn't cover damage due to poor quality product. I purchased a Harmony Grand Sofa that has shown signs of defect on the woven fabric Since delivery on 11/27/21: Color fastness/rubbing (27 days from Del) and Severe fraying Edges (38 days From del). Normally, manufacturers have product components undergo performance testing on upholstered fabrics to ensure product longevity. Typically colorfastness to crocking is one of the Tests that are performed. Unfortunately, according to customer service, this kind of defect is not a manufacturer responsibility... on a finished product that will definitively deal with rubbing/making contact with other fabrics!

This situation Is telling of the lack of integrity of this company…Other companies (like Ikea) have all their testing info online to ensure the product you're buying is of a certain quality. There is too much secrecy here. I even got in contact with their corporate office to get a straight answer and got stonewalled. The icing on the cake...customer service is the absolute worst! They only read off of a script and you feel completely Used and ignored. Go anywhere but here. They have no Integrity, The quality is bad and corporate office doesn't do right by their customers. So I was browsing Havertys Furniture's website for a new Sofa. They has a 36 months no interest financing so I decided to apply. I completed the information then it asked me to call a toll free phone number. I called as was told. I needed to go to another website, take a picture of of driver's license plus, get this, take a 5 second or 5 minute video of myself before they could process my application. Why would I be STUPID to upload my personal identification to some website to get compromised, and a video!! I have NEVER heard of a such. I flat out told her I'm not sending my identification to some website, would it be easier if I went into the store and applied, she said it would be the same process. Then she asked if I wanted her to process my application without uploading my information, I said yes, then she said I was not approved.

I applied with Ashley Furniture 36 months "No Interest" finance and was approved for $10,0000.00. Havertys Furniture, I think your bias demands warrant an investigation. After reading your 1.3 STAR rating, I'm perfectly glad you denied me credit, but guess what, I will be filing a BBB complaint for ruining my credit score because of my refusal of your unethical demand. They already knew I wasn't gonna be approved for not providing a video of myself, upload my ID and denied my right to visit their store to complete my application and show proof of my identity in person to avoid being compromised.

We purchased a leather recliner sofa from Havertys in Feb. of 2021 and it was ready in June 2021. We picked it up from the store and it sits in the middle of our living room where it does not touch any walls or other furniture. We have no children or pets in the home, only 2 elderly people with no roughhousing going on. We noticed after 3 months that the 2 back corners have peeling leather on them. There is absolutely no way we could have caused this damage. It is simply peeling off as if it was too tightly installed on them.

When calling the customer service we sent in pictures and filed a claim. We were told that it was an in home damage and there is nothing they will do to fix it. We called the store to see if we could return it. There is only a 3 day return policy. This was a $3,000.00 sofa that looks cheap and old after only 3 months of use. Extremely dissatisfied customers and to top it off it turned out to be the most uncomfortable couch we have ever sat on. We kept hoping that it would be more comfortable as it got worn in, We were wrong about that and should have returned it immediately. Buyer BEWARE! We usually check reviews on large purchases before we buy but this one slipped through on us without checking first. We regret that very much now. All their reviews are pretty bad. Hope we can save someone else from going thru the headaches we are experiencing now.

In August 2016 we lost our furniture due to a flood. In October 2017 I purchased from Havertys in Baton Rouge two Forest Lane drawer nightstands, the dresser, chest and bed. I complained to the company about the smell on the inside of the drawers and was told the odor would fade. After many conversations with the company they replaced the dresser but it had the same odor. Four years later the odor in the drawers has not faded. Very disappointing to put on an item of clothing and it has a funky smell to it. I don't even use the drawers in the chest. I will never again buy from Havertys. Hope this helps someone from making the same mistake as I did.

We ordered the sofa in January of 2020. The sofa is finally scheduled for delivery in November of 2021. It took almost one year for the sofa to be delivered. Even given the issues with supply and staffing this wait is not acceptable. While there was regular communication we were given date after date after date for estimated ETA. None of these were even remotely reliable. While Paul was polite and good to work with and I believe he tried what he could. I will not be purchasing furniture from Havertys in the future.

Update. Unfortunately during delivery damaged was done to our home. The delivery team did not put down a mat to protect the hardwood flooring. Two of the employees attempted to brute force push the sofa through the front door. This resulting in chipping and scratching of the front door and hardwood floor and denting and scratching of the door frame.

I purchased $7500 worth of furniture from Havertys in Maryland. Within the first 10 months, I had to ask for a return of three pieces because the upholstery was unraveling. I was given authorization to replace all three pieces. Two of the three they refunded because there was nothing like them to replace it. Apparently, you are given 20 days to order a replacement or you void your return. For the record, they don’t tell you this until the 20 days have passed.

Additionally, I had a sofa and ottoman that started unraveling 13 months after I had it and they would not do anything to assist me. The Guardian furniture protection would not help me because they don’t reupholster furniture, so I am stuck with a piece of junk for furniture. I should have taken the queue and never come back.

Now I notice that my dining room chairs (ARDEN RIDGE PARSONS CHAIR) the material is cracking and looks horrible. And the 5 year protection plan just expired and again they said it's not their problem. The same happened with the Devin 30 bar stools. Buyers beware the quality after 5 years is bad. I currently have an order close to $4000.00 that I am cancelling. I understand how warranty works but I don't understand is why you don't take care of your customers, when my customers are in the same situation we always look for a win win solution. I paid top $$ for a sofa and recliner with the 5 year protection plan (that's a joke). After only 10 months we have had problems with the recliner so we put a claim in. It took them several months to answer our claim due to covid which in my opinion is a cop out for every business you deal with right now. They sent a tech out and told us the part had to be ordered. So we waited and waited, ok we get an email again several months later stating the part is no longer manufactured.

REALLY! So they offered to replace the chair or we could take a payout (which was 1/4 of what we paid for it) and keep the chair. Either way you no longer have a covered extended warranty on that piece of furniture for the remaining 4 years. (Of which I paid for a 5 year warranty.) So that's telling me if I have a problem with my couch they're not going to have the part either! I will never purchase anything from Havertys Furniture again, they are over priced and don't stand behind the quality of their furniture. Do yourself a favor and do not purchase ANYTHING from them.

There was a problem with each piece. Havertys issued replacement and when 2nd delivery arrived on 4/2/2021 same issue even worse. Left side was lower so did not connect again. Sectional sofas should not have gaps. You can see where fabric was not put together correctly and used glue to put fabric together. We purchased three tables and a sofa a little over a month ago from the Mesquite store. The sofa is back ordered until the end of May. When the tables arrived, one was wrapped but the other two were not. One of them has a chip in it. We called and were told we had to schedule an appointment for someone to look at it. Almost a month later, when the day arrived, we were called and told the person was not working today and we were pushed back until April 21.

Obviously, if we can't get someone out to just look at a chip, we are smart enough to cancel our sofa which has a lot of electrical parts to it. It could be broken for a long time before they bothered to uphold their warranty. The table just should have been replaced. When you sell bad goods, a decent company makes it right. Staff at Mesquite is wonderful but they don't have the company backing to make shopping there worth the risk. All of our furniture is from this store; however, we will have to find another company to buy from.

Three weeks ago I went in to the Haverty's in West Palm where I bought it. The salesman (Sal) was very polite and helpful. He filled out a claim form. I received a call from Haverty's and they told me to first work with Tempurpedic directly and if they could not help, the Haverty's would .When I told Tempurpedic which mattress I had they told me that the salesman sold me a soft to medium mattress.

Today I went back to Haverty's. Sal was not there so I was directed to a "manager" by the name of Jared. This poor excuse for a manager told me, without even looking in to the claim, that they would not consider helping, He said, and I quote, "Yes, I'm sorry is all you will get from us." If he were an employee of mine he would have been gone on the spot. He could not have cared less or had less interest in my situation. I really wanted to love my experience with Havertys. It seems silly but I have fond memories of shopping there with family and getting really great stuff. In fact, my parents still have some things they purchased years ago. The quality has always been known to be excellent. We needed to furnished our new place almost completely because of selling our home furnished. When we went in (early July 2020) due to Covid we were told things could take up to 8 weeks and that ordering anything that wasn’t on the floor (color-wise) would be a customer order.

Therefore, we ordered what we were told was considered in stock and not custom. The bed arrived timely. However, it arrived damaged and my husband tried to negotiate how to resolve it. Before receiving a call back about how it would be resolved delivery of a new headboard came without notice that that’s what it was. We thought they were delivering one of the two sofas we purchased. Ok lack of communication strike one. Fast forward 8 weeks. We called to see the status of our two sofas. We were told the sleeper sofa would be available anytime, but the main sofa had no delivery date. What? So we called the store and we were told that it would not be available until October.

This is a problem because my parents whom I haven’t seen in a year are scheduled to visit at the end of September. Both they and we have been quarantining to as to safely visit. This was not acceptable. The salesman then offered to switch us to the same sofa in a different color that was available. We complied. On date of delivery two movers/employees came and determined it would not fit In the elevator as I was then told “we only have 12 minutes to deliver this, now we will be really behind”. This is a far cry from the white glove delivery service sold to us at the store. They said they’d need another guy to get it upstairs. They did not stop to look at the staircase which is quite large and spacious for moving.

My husband called customer service who told him to send pictures of the staircase to be reviewed by the manager to approve getting the sofa up this way. He’d be contacted in 48 hours. 24 hours passed the 48-hour mark and no call. At that point, my husband calls and also wants to know the status of the sleeper sofa. Now we are told that 1. No one has reviewed the pictures and 2. The sleeper sofa now is not coming until October when we kept hearing it was coming anytime end of August, early September. We asked to speak to the store manager about the sleeper and the store receptionist said, “Well she can’t tell you any more than what I have.” I said my husband just has a few questions. She took my number and end of day, no one called back.

Then, on the phone with customer service regarding the sleeper we asked what the process is for a refund and they proceed to tell us that’s not possible because the sleeper is a custom order. No, it’s not because the salesman said it was not. No solution there. My husband was then again told that the pictures for the main sofa would be reviewed and to call again tomorrow. That will be tomorrow 9-11-2020. We might have to hire movers to get the sofa if they determine they can’t deliver. It’s 3 or 4 cities over to do this. Havertys may have have been a great company 15 years ago but to date I see nothing but lack of customer service. Covid 19 or not.

Cancelled portion of order earlier and remainder after this news. No follow up from store or salesperson. Always had to reach out to find out status. Couches unpacked inside trailer and cushions thrown on trailer floor without protection. Large grease spot on couch. Now the delivery recording states September 16th for other delivery despite the fact that crew from day before confirmed table delivery today. Another 2 days wasted. They immediately took full cash payment, of course, they insisted on it. Customer is screwed all around. Just moved to the Charlotte, NC area and needed some new furniture for our new home. Visited Havertys and seemed nice. Initial purchase included a sofa table, coffee table, and dining room table with chairs. Sofa table was in the show room and we could have taken it with us, but had a scratch and Havertys said they would repair and then deliver. The other furniture was a special order and would be delivered later. Weeks and weeks later... nothing. Sales person would not return our calls.

Finally, furniture showed up. Sofa table was damaged even more, and never repaired. Called and called, only to be put on hold forever. Finally called and held for 45 minutes. Got through, and a service ticket was created. Another month went by and again nothing. No calls, couldn't get through customer service, etc. Again, after waiting almost an hour, my call was answered and they finally scheduled a service appointment. 2 weeks later! Still not done, and still waiting. Don't buy from Havertys... You'll be sorry! Horrible customer service. The positive... Delivery guys were great. They couldn't believe the damage to the sofa table either.

My husband and I thought it was mosquitoes so we sprayed the yard. I kept getting bit. Finally, I found the culprit. Bed bugs in the headboard of the upholstery. I realized I began to itch immediately after this delivery was made. I even saw a bug on the headboard but thought it was just a random insect. I wish I had called then, but I'm not a bug expert, and I didn't know. Haverty's says there's nothing they can do. Not even an exchange of equal value. The protection plan I purchase, which was an additional $400 (Guardsman), say they don't cover infestation. So I spent over $4500 and neither company did anything to help. I purchased a bedroom set from Havertys in Virginia Beach in late 2016. A crew delivered and assembled the bed frame as part of the purchase. I was led to believe I would be getting a professional installation. I always noticed the bed frame was not the sturdiest, but was warned by the crew that assembled the frame that the product was just that way so I believed it was a bed made of cheap materials (true).

However, about 3 years later I had carpet replaced in the bedroom and had to move the bed. That is when I noticed (after putting frame on side) multiple missing screws and bolts, splintered wood from screws driven in on an angle, and a missing support leg (1 of 4 that run down the center of the bed from the footer to the header, about 10" in width). The crew purposely hid that from me and led me to believe I had received a full bed set. Havertys has said they are sending me new hardware, but no support leg or crew to properly assemble it finally. Congratulations Havertys! You got me, way to stand behind your product and service! I WILL NEVER MAKE ANOTHER PURCHASE THERE AGAIN!

We have purchased over $15,000 of furniture from Haverty's over the last 15 years. A decade ago the quality was comparable to Ethan Allen. In fact, we still have our dining table and chairs from 2004. Our most recent purchases, within the last 1.5 years, have been completely disappointing. A dual recliner loveseat and two recliners. In August 2019, we purchased two Kobe wall hugger recliners and a sleeper loveseat. One of our recliners was delivered broken (the right arm bent outward 6"). They left it until a replacement could be delivered, which took until today 01/08/2020! Delivery arrived with no recliner on truck! I contacted store manager who agreed to pick up both recliners for full refund.

The recliner my husband, 5'8" 185 lbs, has sat in since delivery in Sept has broken down in the seat area. Our two recliners in our second house have broken down even more in the seat and back. All recliners are their best quality and real leather, not cheap! Very disheartening. This is definitely not a case of "you get what you pay for". At least you know what you get with Ashley, disposable furniture that may last a couple years.

Nearly two years ago, we purchased the Bernhardt Colton Sofa (the extra long four seater) and the matching chair and Ottoman, for $4900 and we love the look (still do). Within a month, the cushions were showing noticeable compression and sagging as though the furniture was a couple of years old. We also had a problem getting the sofa to stop "teeter tottering". Because the sofa is so long, and the middle legs too tall, the sofa tips back and forth even though the leg levelers on the ends are fully extended. We called Havertys and they sent someone out. They worked on the legs, cut the middle ones back somehow, so the teeter totter stopped. The cushions were just "too bad" for us.

Shortly after the first repair visit, the front of the chair cushion looked even worse and they sent someone out again. This repair person looked closer under the chair and saw that apparently during manufacturing, the front board was not installed right and was slowly coming apart making the cushions sag/shift more. He replaced the front board and it looked much better, but the chair and ottoman still already looked quite old which was terribly disappointing so soon after purchase (note that we are empty nesters who travel a lot and don't give this furniture all that much use). It was clear, after talking to many Havertys folks who seemed to (in person) genuinely care, that we were stuck with this furniture.

Because we all work hard for our money, I wanted to spare others the experience we had and send a message to Havertys/Bernhard that there are issues with this collection that need to be addressed (or the line discontinued). Other reviews on the Havertys website echoed our experience. We are looking at new furniture now, and having shopped almost exclusively at Havertys since 1999, we were wanting to see if we just had bad luck or if others had the same problems with the sofa. So today I checked the reviews, and while there were a couple there that echoed our problems with the Colton Collection pieces, our detailed (and professional, factual) review had been taken down. I "chatted" with the online Havertys representative because I thought this was unprofessional and dishonest and she said she would pass my complaint/question on. We'll see if she follows through.

I am a bit shocked that Havertys would review our review of this furniture that clearly has problems. But our review is indeed gone. I understand removing inflammatory or untrue reviews (or reviews written in anger or which are very disrespectful) but ours was not that. I'm very disappointed in Havertys. Initially for not following through and making sure we were pleased with the product -- we believe they should have taken the furniture back and issued a credit so we could find items that would hold up like our previous Havertys purchases did. I even offered accepting a partial credit but it was clear that after stretching the repair visits out, it was "too late" to do anything about the continuing problems. I'm more disappointed to see that Havertys removed our review. Clearly profits are prioritized over satisfying their long-established customers.

Mind you, this couch is hardly ever used and when it is it is used by adults. No children or grandchildren in the house. Their solution was for us to purchase new pillows from them or the manufacturer. Now why would I do that when the workmanship is so poor and they don't stand behind their obviously defective products??? I would definitely not purchase anything from them again. It is very disappointing that they would not stand behind their product. It is only 2 pillows. I would have thought they would try to make it right for an obvious defect. I have never been more disappointed with furniture quality as I am with Haverty's. I purchased over $15,000 in living room, dining room, area rugs, and kitchen furniture. It took 4 trips to just deliver my items, the coffee table was crushed, the area rug bent, the end table scratched. I purchased the expensive Guardsman insurance because I have pets and children. The area rug was stained by a pen, it took Guardsman over 6 weeks to send someone out to my home, only to be told because I tried to clean up the mess the repair tech couldn't touch it. Eventually I got a new rug but to have the new rug covered under warranty I had to pay $99 for the coverage again.

My kitchen table is made out of a whiskey type barrel. The slats are separating within the metal band and it is now a wobbly table. The Haverty's delivery person put the top on the table originally. Guardsman says they won't cover it because it's under a year old so I have to have Haverty's repair it. My light almost white colored recliner has some type of staining on the seat, not sure from what but it will not come off. The leather on the head rest is starting to flake and where the stitching is the color is gone. The flaking is a concern because I was told it's a 100% leather in that area not bonded leather, since when does leather flake? Again Haverty's has to come out because it is under a year old.

The area rug in my dining room is coming unraveled at the corners. The dining room table and chairs are supposed to be wood but there is a nick in the "wood" and it certainly doesn't seem like wood at all. There is not one single thing that we purchased from Haverty's that has not had an issue. I would not recommend this furniture to anyone. I should have gone to La-Z-Boy for my recliner and reclining sofa.

I would not recommend Guardsman either because they do not process claims quickly and fail to keep the consumer informed, but if you are buying the expensive low quality crap furniture from Haverty's you need it insured so you have no choice. The sales person and designer in store were nice. I was given a small gift certificate to use in store due to all the delivery issues we had but of course I do not want any more of their crap made furniture and the gift certificate expired. If there was a way to rate less than 1 star I would.

The sales staff at Havertys Furniture in Fort Myers, FL were all very good and helpful. The purchasing experience went fine. In July 2018 we bought three rooms of furniture; bedroom, dining room, and family room, along with two area rugs. The sale and delivery went fine. At the time of purchase we were asked if we wanted furniture protection by Guardsman. We did purchase the coverage even though the price was quite high. We had purchased the furniture protection at a different store on a prior purchase for upholstered furniture and it worked VERY well.

The cushions on the sofa and loveseat seemed very tight when we first got them and "popped out" of the frame. We assumed they would loosen up and fit better after a little usage. They never have. Each time you get up the cushion pops up. That isn't the biggest problem. We have had the furniture one year (and we weren't in the condo two of those months) and when trying to remove stains they will not come out. Also, the arms of the sofa and chair are very discolored. We notified Havertys that the arms looked dirty and that using a damp cloth on them wouldn't correct the problem. They instructed us to contact Guardsman. A rep from Guardsmen came out and evaluated the arms. He said they only work on specific stains - not soil from usage. Took pictures and said he would turn in the paperwork but didn't think anything would be done and to contact the store again.

I stated that I didn't believe that there was fabric protection on the sofa or loveseat. He sprayed a little water on them and said "if there ever was any it was put on very lightly or the water would bead up". We called Havertys to discuss. Customer Service was terrible. The woman stated "we don't sell dirty furniture". Yes, we said, we know that. But it seems the fabric protection doesn't work. She was very negative and stated someone else would call us back (after my husband stated he felt they should clean the furniture and reapply the fabric protection).

After debating with them for over a month now we were finally told yesterday that they couldn't do anything for us. They meant they WOULDN'T do anything. We know fabric protection works. In the past we had furniture that had the protection on it and all stains I tried to remove came out. It's only my husband and I in the house so it doesn't get a lot of abuse. We had an ink mark on the previous sofa -and it came out with water (as directed). We had an ink stain on this sofa and the damp cloth process didn't work. All I can say is buyer beware. And I wouldn't pay for fabric protection through them. You'd be better off buying a can of protectant spray and doing it yourself. You would save several hundred dollars and not get treated poorly by Havertys.

Then there were accidental nicks on the table, and what seemed to be just loss of color where the stain seemed to wipe right off over time (which doesn’t happen with good workmanship). When we submit through Guardsman they refuse to pay saying it happened due to general use. The sales rep basically lie to our faces about how it works. If you are looking for quality furniture or honesty don’t buy here.

Last Sept, I went to buy a full room of furniture. I stayed in the store at least 2 hours, and found everything I wanted, and talked to the Sales guy. The plan was for him to send me the dimensions of the furniture, by email...so I could decide whether to get the sectional or couch and chair. I bought the tables. When I got home, after a few days, I received nothing. This was the second time this happened, the first time, he was suppose to send info to my husband, no follow up with a phone call, nothing. We still dealt with him on the second visit.. We bought tables but still no couch, we decided to look elsewhere this Spring..

We bought white furniture (bedside table) for our bedroom. It absorbed the color from anything I put on it. We bought the Guardsman protection. We called and Havertys sent us to Guardsman. We thought they would come to look and give us another one but no! Guardsman sent a little man to spray paint the top in our bedroom! If we didn’t want it sprayed in our bedroom then my husband, who has stage 4 cancer would have to carry it outside so the little man could spray it out there. When we said no, he said Guardsman would say we refused treatment and they would do nothing. He was a third party contractor. Purchase a very expensive dining table and the wood is cracking and literally has a section of wood missing! Notified Guardsman and for once they said they would sent one of their technicians out. He came and said he wasn't going to try and fix the table but would just order a new table top. 12 days later we receive an email from Guardsman saying it's due to wear and wood can crack and their protection plan doesn't cover that damage. Only after their certified technician came out and last words were I will be ordering another table top. Took it Havertys Customer Service. They of course back up Guardsman.

Havertys furniture UNFORTUNATELY is not the QUALITY it use to be. Only the price of Havertys but DEFINITELY NOT THE QUALITY! I won't purchase Anything else from Havertys. However, I spoke with the Manager and the floor manager where I made the purchase but couldn't believe what happened. The Floor Manager literally said he truly believes it's a Havertys DEFECT. I purchased the Corey Sectional in July of 2017. Less than 18 months (December 2018) later, part of the frame you would expect to be solid wood is in fact PARTICLE BOARD that is now completely broken so half of the sectional now sags to the floor. I paid over $1700 for a sectional made of PARTICLE BOARD! I am sick I didn't do my research before buying. I assumed that since the company has been in business for many years, it must be a good company.

I was offered the extended warranty, (which I declined), for things like replacing a cushion with a stain or a rip in the upholstery. I didn't realize I would need it because the furniture would break and be unusable. When I contacted customer service they said they would have fixed it if it had happened in the first year but I was out of luck. Too bad. I have bought many pieces of furniture in Havertys. They always had great furniture, but they have GONE TO THE DOGS! Never again will I purchase something from them! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! I bought a leather sectional sofa from Havertys in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We rarely sat on it, so it took a few months to notice that it was absolutely no good! The cushions won't stay on... they slide out and you'll eventually end up on the floor if you don't get up to push them back in. You sink to the floor when you sit, and it already looks like it's 15 years old! I don't know why I didn't think to call them as soon as I noticed this. But, I went out and bought industrial Velcro to try to make the cushions stay in place because my previous sofa of 12-13 had Velcro... The cushions NEVER moved!

The Velcro came undone, so when I called Havertys I had the sofa for 14 months. They said there was nothing they could do about it because it was past a year. (But now I know it wouldn't have mattered because I've read such terrible reviews of how they didn't stand behind products after only a few months). We spent over $2000 on this sofa, and it looks HORRIBLE!!! The sofa has already been discontinued! Wonder why? After pushing, they sent someone out to take a look at it. The technician took pictures and told us that he recommended the sofa be replaced because it couldn't be repaired. He showed us what he wrote on his phone. I asked him for a copy of the report. He said he couldn't give us a copy. Go figure. He said Haverty's would contact us within an hour. We never heard from them.

After 4 DAYS, we contacted them. We were informed that the report said, "There are no defects." I called the salesperson at the store that I had also been in contact with. She continued to give me the run around... call this person, call that person. HAVERTYS DID NOTHING. WE WASTED OVER $2,000 on a sofa that looks like it came from the dime store! This company no longer carries the quality furniture they carried in the past. I never had any trouble before, but after reading all the other reviews, I see that they HAVE GONE TO THE DOGS as my experience was the same as many others! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Go the Salvation Army and buy something for $50 instead rather than DONATE money to a company that could care less if you are satisfied!

We have had this furniture for just over 2 years. 25 months to be exact. It is in a separate room which does not get much activity except for on the holidays. On the sofa (Piedmont RAF Corner Sofa, Mineral) one of the boards in the frame has broken off and you can see it sagging on the underneath of the couch and can feel that it is loose. You can no longer sit on that couch without falling into the seat as there is no spring support. On the other piece of the sectional (Piedmont Armless Loveseat, Mineral) both of the cushions are starting to fall apart at the seams. All of the stitching is coming out.

We purchased the Guardsman protection plan. Havertys customer service has informed me that they do not cover the fabric after one year and do not cover the frame after two years and to contact Guardsman. Upon entering their store to discuss with them the same couch is now being sold with different fabric on it. A much more sturdier fabric it appears. And after talking to a few people in the store you can tell all of them knew exactly what I was talking about when I said that the stitching was coming out on the cushions. In fact another lady walked up and said "you must have purchased the Piedmont sectional. It has a New fabric now."

I spent over 10k at their store on furniture purchases and I believe I spent 2500 on this sectional. Maybe 3000. For this price and considering the company I bought it at I guess I expected it to last a lot longer than two years. For the quality and the service I just received which was poor, I would have expected from another retailer. I will never buy any more furniture from Havertys again. Don't waste your money on this couch nor buy anything from these people. They do not care about you or doing the right thing when they know they sold you a piece of junk. In June 2018 we purchased a bed, Stearns and Foster. We paid over $3200 for this bed. At which time we laid on the bed in the showroom, and it was obvious the mattress that they delivered was not the one in which we chose. We were informed to lose sleep for 30 days to try the bed out. At the end of the 30 days, we were then able to turn the mattress back in and get another mattress. But, of course we had to spend an additional $400 to pick up another mattress.

We went back to the same Havertys, tested three or four beds. And was informed the one we chose have been on the showroom floor for approximately a week or so. This bed was very comfortable and we were willing to spend an additional $400 to have a good night sleep after 30 days of no sleep on the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever laid on. We chose a A Sealy Tempur-Pedic cool gel queen size bed. The first night or two the bed was OK, but now we’re at 30 days and it appears to become more and more firm as you sleep on it. We reached out to the sales person was directed us to the corporate office. And of course as always, "We understand, but there’s nothing we can do," per the corporate office. We stated that we do not feel that the mattress that we laid on again was the same mattress that was delivered to our home.

I feel, there needs to be some kind of investigation done. In no way can I bed that’s in the showroom be extremely comfortable and then once delivered to your home is absolutely horrible. So we are now going on 60 days with no sleep having to get up and sleep on the leather couch after spending almost $4000. We are in the process of requesting our money back for the mattress. Not to mention we did some research, and found that the mattress in which we purchased is 95% polyurethane which is a biohazard to humans. Since we have had this matter is I’ve done nothing but coughed and be congested and having break out on my face. We reached out explaining that the polyurethane is in fact creating a health issue now so far we’ve heard nothing back and they are not willing to accommodate us whatsoever.

It looks as though maybe a lawyer will be in the works. It is pretty absurd, that customers can pay that kind of money and be unsatisfied with the furniture that they have purchased and Havertys is not willing to do anything at all to make it right. They have the money and we have a poor product. Not to mention how is it legal for beds to be made with polyurethane which is hazardous to a person's health?

The frame was clearly felt - your butt sort of sunk into a square frame - the springs squeaked and the arms were so flimsy that you could feel the wood and wiggle the whole arm.

I was told all custom orders were not returnable or refundable. I put the chairs in a guest room and went to a local company and had custom leather club chairs made (they are exquisite!!) for $100 LESS.

Furthermore, the bar stools we ordered came broken and the “warranty” we paid $700 for and they wouldn’t even see them to check if they were fixable. They denied our claim without any visit or pictures. We have never sat on them. The custom leather sectional ripped along the seam after 4 months. Havertys took no blame and the warranty company again wouldn’t even take a look.

All in all, we spent $11,200 outfitting our new house. The only things we have not had to fix at our own expense are the kitchen chairs but I recovered them myself when the fabric ripped. Please note that we have no pets, no kids and rarely use most of this stuff. It’s literally falling apart all on its own. Skip Havertys AND their worthless warranty people. Purchased Berkley Entertainment Wall System from Havertys Store on Satellite Blvd, Duluth, GA March 08, 2018. Delivery scheduled for Tuesday, March 13, 2018 between 0800 hrs and 1000 hrs. Delivery truck arrived approximately 0900 hrs - on time. Drivers courteous and friendly. HOWEVER - The Entertainment Console that was shipped was defective - did not include the feet to be screwed on. A hole was missing to screw the feet into the console. Driver was going to transfer the feet from the Left Pier unit but there was no hole predrilled hole for the attachment.

ALSO - driver told me there was a "pink ticket" on the console which meant this was already a "used and returned furniture item". I went straight to the store but other than writing it up on the computer they were no help. So far NO call from any manager or Customer Service rep to schedule re-delivery of a "new replacement console and hutch". I will never buy anything from Havertys again. Trust me when I say the CEO is 'WAY OVERCOMPENSATED" for the job he is doing with this company. Hell - even Rooms-To-Go is better than this. I paid $2949.97 for this unit. Most likely going back to store today and just cancel order altogether.

We purchased an expensive set of furniture from Havertys in November 2013, including a Winchester Glider Recliner, a Loveseat and Sofa, they recommended to purchase a 5-year furniture protection Guardsman Gold Plan, costing $299.99 which (we were told at the time of purchase) would cover any defects or accidental happening to the furniture. The coverage is good until November 2018. My wife and I primarily use the Love Seat to watch TV. After a couple of year of usage, we started to notice that the brown color was fading away and got worse over time to the point it is now a eye sore to look at it. We contacted Guardsman and send them our claim and picture of the defect in the Loveseat, after about a week, they contacted us and said that they did not cover this type of damage, it is more of a Manufacturer's defect and recommended for us to check with Havertys.

We went to the Havertys store where we purchased the furniture and showed them the paperwork and pictures we submitted to Guardsman. The Manager looked at the information and said that Guardsman should have handled the claim, and instructed his Customer Service person to contact their service department and have them review the information which they had received from Guardsman. The next day we received a call from the service department stating that they will be back with us soon with an answer. We received a call back a few days later stating that they no longer made this type of furniture and did not have the replacement parts to fix it, so they apologized and said there was nothing they can do.

We argued the fact that the warranty they sold us was supposed to cover any damage or blemish on the furniture, and if there was nothing they could do to repair the Loveseat, they should replace it or at least refund the warranty cost since it is worthless. The Customer Service person said to wait a minute to see if her Manager could speak to us about it, but he told her he did not want to speak with us, so there was nothing more she could do about our complaint and ended the conversation at such point. I will never purchase anything else from Havertys, they do not stand behind their furniture quality nor the fake protection agreement which they sell to cover their furniture.

My husband and I are so disappointed in the hutch and dining room table we bought from Havertys. We received our furniture January 18. The bottom of the hutch had a big scrape on it and the table had a bubble with a big scrap. Not acceptable. Took pictures and they came and replaced both pieces. The new tabletop we left the leaf in (mistake). After having a dinner party, I asked my husband to take it out. After it was out, it would not close. Was not lined up. The base had a big scrape we hadn't noticed before. Another guy came to see it and patched up the scrape on the base. We're still waiting on the table top (three weeks later). AND the bottom shelf on the hutch will not let plates stand in the slat. We purchased (stupid) the warranty. Well, if they sprayed the chairs and put a finish on the table, wouldn't they see the defects? We are very disappointed in our purchase and would never buy from them again!!

I was looking for a dining room table and chairs and was elated when I found a beautiful piece at the Havertys Melbourne. They had said it was a special order and could take up to 12 weeks for delivery. I said that would be fine considering it was a custom set. The table and 4 chairs were delivered right around 12 weeks. The only problem was I was still missing 2 chairs. They communicated it would be another 4-6 weeks on the chairs. 1 chair was delivered 4 weeks later. I am still without a chair. When I called the store they stated someone forgot to put in the order.

It has been 6 months that I have been waiting. The woman manager from the store called me back in December and said it would be the first week of January. To my great surprise the chair never showed up. So again I called and they never returned my call. Finally, after diligently calling the store the sales associate called me back and apologized. He said it would be delivered January 18th or the 21st. Again, to my surprise I still have no chair. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these crooks.

I have purchased sofas from Grand Home Furnishing (at least 12 years ago) and paid half of the amount what I've paid at Havertys and they are still in great shape. My chair was ruined only a week after the delivery, The salesman assured us if anything happened to the furniture, Guardsman guarantees it will be replaced with a new piece if they are unable to make it right. They sent out a hateful man who very quickly cleaned part of the chair. When I reported to them that the odor was still there, all they would ever do was to send one cushion cover that took weeks to even get here. We moved into a newly built home. After months of research we ordered a number of pieces of furniture from Havertys. We were excited to receive our furniture. When we got our delivery and 7 out of 8 pieces came in damaged. Server lower bottom drawer was smashed in. Dining room chairs had holes in them and scratches. The two bookcases were of poor quality and came in damaged. Excessive stain on one shelf and a lack of stain and damage to the back plate on the other unit, One end table came in damaged. A defect in finish.

They sent out their service person and we were told the dining room chairs were supposed to have pinholes in them, part of the natural look. We insisted the scratches and holes in the chairs to be fixed and they were. Told us we would have to have the bookshelves replaced. Not in stock. Not expected in until the end of November and also had to replace the server and end table. Still awaiting delivery. Since then the other end tables finish did not hold up well. The end table lamps have a rough finish, on the bottom, without velvet, and scratched the table top.

The last straw was the Jennings Electric Fireplace and TV Stand. We loved it until the fireplace started to make a strange noise where the fireplace was turned on. Now we have to contact Havertys customer service department again and hope that we will not be cast adrift to fend for ourselves. We have had to stay home three times to deal with delivery, service and redelivery issues. So much for Top Drawer Delivery Service. Half the issues could have been resolve by a quality check before leaving the distribution center, before leaving the truck, or when placed in the house. We question quality of product and service. In all of our years we never experienced anything like this. It is sad because we really liked what we picked but in the long run may have made a costly decision.

On Saturday 11/25 my family went to Havertys to look at sofas and get ideas for replacing the furniture we currently have. We were met at the door by a salesman named Foy. He spoke to my wife while the kids and I looked at sofas. When they joined us I asked if the sofa I was looking at came without power. He responded by asking, "Why?". I said that I just don't want power. He then raised his voice and asked, "WHY?". A little taken back by this I responded personal preference. He now said, "Why? Have you ever had one?". I said no and that I'm not interested in having one.

I also asked him why he was being confrontational. To this he responded, "I didn't come over to argue. I'm done". This was very disappointing to us but we continued shopping. We were then approached by another salesman named Gary. He was nicer but still very pressuring. When we would ask a question he ended every answer with, "If I can do that will you take it today?". He even tried to persuade me to purchase without my wife's consent, in which I told him we're together and I'm not agreeing to that.

Once he found we didn't want to buy that night, he said he was tired and going home. He had been there all day. My wife commented and tired of dealing with people like us to which he replied, "YES". So, needless to say we were very disappointed in this experience. All we wanted to do was look and get ideas, then go home measure and review. Then we would purchase. But we were made to feel like we had to buy now. Why did we need to think about it. Sad. I won't be back to this company and will try and steer any friends, family, and acquaintances from shopping there either. This is very poor customer service.

They were getting upset but when you paid as much as I did for the desk it better get put together correctly. The one just stepped back and did absolutely nothing from that time on. I purchased some furniture at Havertys (Wrangler sofa and love seat recliners) in Pensacola, Florida January 2017. My sales representative was great and delivery was great, and 8 months later I noticed the armrest on the sofa started to sink in, also when you sat down in the sofa the bottom was leaning in on the left rear corner. So I contacted the customer service department and they said they would sent a technician out to inspect it. We were in the process of moving so I wanted to get the issue resolved before leaving. The technician arrived the day before we moved and he made weird comments like, "Humm that's weird." When my Mom stepped out of the room he made a comment but he didn't realize she could hear, he said "they are not going to be happy", when my Mom asked who is not going to be happy, he told her a lie.

The next day I got a call saying that it's not a manufacture defect and we needed to call Guardsman and they would take care of it. I argued the facts because this furniture was less than a year old, we shouldn't be having these kind of issues within 8 months. I requested another technician to come out to my new residence and they finally agreed. The second technician arrived in September and like the other technician he already knew that Havertys wouldn't take care of their product, but repeatedly said that the warranty would. He also made a comment about the company I worked for having a recall but my Mom quickly reminded him that they were taking care of their customers, which had nothing to do with our furniture issues, what a cheap shot. I contacted Guardsman and filed a claim with them, during the move the armrest that had the issue got a small puncher, so I included that in my claim.

A few days later I received a email from Guardsman saying the issues I had wasn't a manufacture defects and I would have to contact the manufacturer to resolve the issue. As for the puncher they would not cover because it was damaged during the move. I contacted Havertys again to find out what the technician reported and to find out why they wouldn't cover this defective furniture they sold me and I was told they couldn't tell me what was on technician report. Also the lady said she would try to help me so I gave them another chance to take care of the furniture, again I was told that they would look into the issue, since guardsman would not cover it. I received a call today saying the same thing, that my issues are not a manufacture defect and not covered under warranty.

Havertys is TERRIBLE and do not stand behind their products. I have spent almost 8,000.00 with this them in the past 4 years and this is how they show me their appreciation. My last furniture lasted 17 years. You probably could buy furniture at Big Lots or American Freight and get the same or better quality than at Havertys. I'm so dissatisfied with this purchase and I want to let everyone know this is their normal business practices, not standing behind their products. Havertys and their warranty company, Guardsman are fraudster. Do your research before you buy from Havertys, they are NOT as they use to be. Because of this experience I will not buy from them again.

I visited the Havertys store in Alliance, TX and purchased a marble dining table set (table + 4 high chairs) few months ago. Few weeks later we noticed that the table started to deteriorate very rapidly even though we were using it to a minimum. We started seeing streaks, marks and heaving stains as if we were putting hot items and burning the table which of course we weren't. We always use coasters and never put anything hot directly on the table, yet there were circles and marks everywhere which could not be cleaned. I tried many cleaning products but no luck. Few weeks ago I called their customer service to report the issue and sent them pictures but they were very quick to conclude that it was wear and tear. I did not accept that answer and told them that I purchased many other items from other places that were much cheaper and they never deteriorated this quickly and considering this is a marble and expensive item.

Shouldn't the quality be even better? I also asked them how could they tell that it was wear and tear without doing a close inspection? After the call was escalated they finally agreed to send a technician to my home to look at it. A very rude guy showed up few days later, walked in very fast and again quickly turned very negative and started telling me immediately that this is not covered and that they will not replace the table (took about 30 seconds for him to come up with this conclusion!!!). No testing, no close inspection and he left quickly afterwards.

I called Havertys back to tell them about my experience and they didn't seem to care. I went back to the store to buy an additional 2 high chairs and told the manager about the issue. He promised to contact corporate and have another technician come out but that never happen. I'm stuck with a damaged item which obviously was bad quality, had a bad finish or material and maybe even defective but this company refuses to provide or discuss any options with me.

We went to the store, picked out the furniture we want and chose the 36 month financing. We asked for a Saturday delivery, but we were told there were no appointments available. Fine. We scheduled for today, 8/30, with an understanding that we would get a 4 hour window and then a 2 hour window (the day before delivery). Our appointment started out at 5:15 to 7:15. At the time I checked the status, it showed (at 5:30) there were five other stops ahead of us. The estimated delivery time got pushed back twice, and finally we got a call stating we would not get the delivery today at all. Instead of their bumping someone else from tomorrow's delivery, they said we MIGHT get it delivered Saturday (mind you, it was Saturday that we asked for in the beginning!) Then... We were told "If not Saturday, it MIGHT be Tuesday". Might be? How do we go from a Wednesday delivery to the Tuesday of NEXT week... MAYBE?

Furthermore, in anticipation of getting our new furniture, we gave all our old furniture away. This is TOTALLY unacceptable after we've paid a down payment and signed a contract to pay for said furniture. I have bought furniture from Haverty's seven years ago and got EXCELLENT service and quality furniture... That is the reason we returned to them. But after THIS???? I will have to reconsider if I will ever spend more money with them. This is totally SHODDY customer service... Or lack thereof. UPDATE - As of today 8/31/2017 - we've gotten a call (after 2 emails and a fax trying to get someone's attention in customer service) only to be told we'll get a free delivery (that's illogical because the delivery fee is already free). They told us we would get delivery on Tuesday (they don't do Saturday deliveries in my city... Which means they gave misinformation yesterday).

They cannot confirm the time. So... We buy furniture, put 10% down and finance the rest only to be told we can't get it when scheduled and at this point NO clear scheduled time (after telling them I'm out of town next week and my wife cannot take off work that day). This is the sloppiest lack of service I have ever seen! Had I paid cash, I would be in the store DEMANDING a full refund! My issue is NOT that they made a mistake or that circ*mstances may have happened beyond their control... MY issue is the lack of empathy, NO explanation as to why this happened and NO concern from management to go BEYOND their policy and make this right! So, the bottom line: you sign a contract, give them money and they deliver when THEY get ready to... And well, if they have to reschedule... Oh well. That's the customer's problem. We need to rearrange our lives to work around THEIR schedule!

The couch in the showroom was comfortable and fit the style I was looking for. I discussed the softness of the couch with the salesperson and asked if the couch in the storeroom was a good representation of the couch once broke in. I was assured that it was and I purchased the couch. I waited for the couch to break in and sit as comfortable as the one in the showroom.

I finally decided to call the store to discuss returning the couch. I would do a restock fee and store credit. The couch is in perfect condition just uncomfortable and nothing like the showroom model. A technician was sent out and said that there was nothing wrong with the couch, that Havertys no longer make soft furniture because they received too many complaints. This couch is stiff and hurts my back when I sit in it. I asked how long a customer has to determine if the furniture is right. I was told 3 days. How do you determine if a piece of furniture is going to break in in only 3 days? Havertys has lost my business for life.

I am extremely upset with Havertys delivery service. I had a scheduled appointment for the delivery of a china cabinet and hutch. I literally had to tear my home upside down to make space for my new furniture. I took a day off without pay just so that I could receive my new furniture. My appointment was confirmed several times either by email or through telephone. Late in the evening on May 29th, I was sent an email that I did not see until May 30th that there was something wrong with the furniture and that it could not be delivered. So now there is no provision for delivery at my convenience. I have to wait for a date that suits Havertys schedule. My concerns above do not represent the superior delivery and service as promised.

I purchased a floor model recliner last July. This April, I notice the chair which is leather is trying to rip, the chair has never had anything behind it wall, other furniture, etc. I called store was told to contact the Guardman's policy, contact Guardsman, filled out form, mailed pictures. Then had a person call to set up a date to service chair, I told service person I have a steep driveway, that they would need 4x4 automobile to get down here, service person told me that the man that does the work drove a van, I said I would be glad to pick them up at the top of my hill, it ended with the service person saying they would call me back.

More than a week went by so I called Guardsman back, got the slight runaround from person to person, the repair technician seemed to repeat my name at least twice, then ask for a number of some type. I ask if it was on my claim form. He said no then rerouted my call back to Customer Service, got a very helpful person that said, would look into my claim, that it could take up to 10 days.

Later that same day I got a message on my phone saying since chair hadn't ripped at a seam they couldn't help me to call my store, which was in Rogers, Arkansas. Since I haven't had the chair over a year... so I called the store. They told me I bought a as-is chair. They also told me when I purchased my as-is chair that it was COMPLETELY COVERED for anything that would happen several times while I was purchasing said chair. Just be warned all their talk of coverage, warranties, everything is covered, isn't worth a dime, even though it cost you a hundred dollars. I was about to purchase a new couch from them but not now. They have seen the last of my money...

We purchased the Laramie sectional 2 years ago and it gets progressively worse day after day. During the first year, we had to have a technician come out to repair loose frames. Then, we had to fight them to repair the cushioning that had broken down-this was within the year warranty, but they said it was normal and to be expected! Over $2000 spent and it was to be expected for the cushions to break down before the first year was up??? It took them weeks to come and take those pieces, restuff them and return them. Those cushions have already broken down again. The salesperson pushed that it had the newest and best cushioning-total lies!! You can feel the wood when you're sitting. Add to that, the side arms and curved piece have loose joints and the material on the seats have stretched and wrinkled. The quality is atrocious and I would love to see a class action lawsuit started. We will NEVER purchase from Havertys again.

I enjoyed my first time shopping at Havertys looking for a bedroom set. 1st stop at Havertys, then to Ashely, then to Rooms to Go, then Matress Firm. Plus the online versions. Went back to Havertys to meet up with Tracey **. She was excellent in showing me 'Coastal & Beachie' Light in color to work with the house at Nocatee. I bought the Forest Lane Storage Bed + night stand + dresser in weathered grey.

Promised a delivery on a Friday and all was achieved. Truck and two gentlemen arrived, put the units together not a problem. Turns out that units are very well made, very heavy and solid. Tracey also helped in selecting a good mattress, knew about the construction of the springs-boxes-hybrids and the all foam. Ended up with a Beautyrest Black. Then she pointed out a great recliner - not those big fluffy overstuffed monsters, but a 'Deco Retro' leather with wood arms. I will be going back to see if Tracey can work a deal on a living room and outdoor furniture.

Beware of their Guardsman protection plan. It's a ripoff. The salesman will promise you the world, but if you ever need to use the protection plan, it's a lengthy and painful procedure to submit a claim. I followed the claim instructions word for word and submitted it online and by mail (they want you to just give up) and never heard from them. 4 months later, I called to check on the claim and after 30 minutes on hold listening to products they're trying to sell you on the phone they told me that the claim was denied because it has to be submitted within 14 days of reporting the damage. I had bought the Havertys Gold 5-year Furniture Protection Plan when I bought my furniture, and it's been 3 years and never used it until now. DO NOT BUY the Guardsman furniture protection plan. Furniture quality is good... for the items I have. If you're okay with getting your items FOUR MONTHS (or more?) after you place an order, by all means shop here. I placed a large order **JANUARY 24th** to be delivered no later than *MID FEBRUARY*. It is NOW *MID APRIL* and two of my items still aren't here, and the date of arrival to the local warehouse is April 28 for one of the missing items and "unknown" for the other (I'm told to expect sometime in MAY).

In late March, they attempted to deliver the sectional I ordered, but it was the MIRROR IMAGE of what I ordered in the store and wouldn't fit in my house. I refused the delivery. (This is after the store came out twice to measure my living room.) They did offer to let me keep/trade out the stuff that wouldn't fit at all. (You know, so I can start making payments on it NOW.) No, thanks, it won't fit, it would be ugly at best and a fire hazard at worst. Of note, the sectional I ordered was not a custom fabric.

Also, one attempt to correct my order resulted in Havertys placing an order for two right-hand ends to my sectional! How does that even make sense?? Who would order *two of the same end*??? And how is it that the CUSTOMER has to catch their error when calling to confirm delivery? THE STAFF DOES NOT LIFT A FINGER TO EXPEDITE THE ORDER - AND THESE ARE ALL THEIR MISTAKES, NOT MINE. There is not another way to put it- they are careless and they seem to have little concern for customers and only care about making orders. Multiple phone calls, nothing but "I'm sorry the process takes so long" and a small order credit that I have yet to receive. My living room is half complete now and it's embarrassing to have people over. Thanks, Havertys - you don't have your stuff together, and now it looks like I don't either to anyone who visits. NOT HAPPY.

Well, we finally were and when it was time to replace the living room furniture we went straight to Haverty's. We purchased a rather expensive sofa and matching chair. Soon we noticed a distinct fading on both pieces. New seat covers for the sofa were ordered but they were not the same color. They also delivered another chair but that didn't match the sofa. We paid thousands for these two pieces but we will eventually have to replace both within a few years. They wanted to give us a store credit, but I didn't see anything that I liked and the credit would not have covered both a chair and sofa. We would still have lost money. I have never seen the level of fading in such a short time that will eventually get worse. Never again will I set foot in their store again.

I purchased a Payton Leather Recliner Set from Havertys Furniture in Charleston, SC less than a year ago. Within the first 3 months, the color was coming off of the recliner pillow to show an ugly orange color underneath. The color was not peeling, cracking, or flaking, it was simply... disappearing. I called Havertys and they had a technician come to inspect the problem. While at my home, the technician stated that the recliner should be replaced as the color removal appeared to be a manufacturer issue and not environmentally related. He then took pictures of my entire set. When the Customer Service department followed up with a call, they initially stated that the recliner would be replaced based on the technician's findings. I thanked them and then asked about the rest of my set.

Could I expect the same thing to happen to the other 2 pieces of the set as I paid roughly $4K for it and expected a better quality product than that which I apparently had received? In short, had they received similar complaints about this product? My question escalated the issue to management level, so the representative politely asked me to hold while she consulted a manager. A short time later the customer service representative returned to the line to inform me that the manager, who couldn't actually come to the phone at that moment, had reviewed my claim again, and I would need to call the supplemental insurance company as the problem I reported was not related to a manufacturing defect.

I was shocked at this turn of events (especially that a simple question about whether they had received similar complaints in relation to my particular furniture set had totally changed the conversation) and insisted on speaking with the manager myself. I was promised a return call that day which never came. I called back a few days later when I realized no one was going to return my call. The manager I spoke with on that occasion reviewed my call notes, and then referenced a photo the technician had taken at my home that showed an area on one of my sofas that my pet had scratched. The scratch was not related to my complaint of the color coming off of the recliner pillow, but she wanted to lump the colorfastness together with a scratch on a separate piece of furniture although one had absolutely nothing to do with the other.

I literally had to spend an hour on the line with this person, with her wanting to override the technician's finding that the recliner should be replaced, based solely on her viewing the photos taken. I was given every prescribed "excuse" for why the colorfastness had failed in such a short period of time including hair product (my husband uses the chair exclusively and has no hair), cleaning product (I only used what they provided to me), and sunlight (the chair is in the middle of a room and does not face the light source). I persisted in my questioning of the validity of her ruling that my particular complaint was not a manufacturer issue based simply upon her viewing a picture, when she FINALLY slipped up and said that only a certified technician having physically viewed the furniture in person could deem an issue to be a manufacturer defect... and what do you know, mine had done just that.

With the air of DOING ME A FAVOR, she agreed to replace my recliner. She concluded our call with the warning to immediately cover the recliner pillow when I receive the new recliner or the color would likely fail again. This statement appeared to effectively answer my initial question as to whether this furniture set was prone to colorfast failure. To no great surprise, and still less than a year after purchase - I have at least 3 new areas on the sofas where the color is coming off to show an ugly orange color underneath - not, as Harvertys Furniture advertises, any "handsome semi-aniline, top-grain leather," I have ever seen before. This leather furniture is of the poorest quality fabric/finish I have EVER encountered. I have received better quality from wholesale outlets for half the price.

Based upon my previous encounter with the customer service department of Havertys Furniture, I have no expectation that they will stand behind their product. Given that all indications show that the quality of this leather finish is sub par, and that the finish will continue to come off to reveal the horrible orange sub-material beneath it, only one of two options would satisfy my complaint to my satisfaction. I would consider my complaint satisfied with the offer of allowing me to trade in my entire set for its purchase price for a new, non-leather alternative (with the hopes that their actual fabric is better constructed than this "painted" leather offering), or a refund to total at least half my purchase price (which generously accounts for the fact that I have now had the furniture set just less than a year, but would allow me to replace this set with a comparable - but likely superior in quality - set from another vendor).

As I have detailed in this review, I have already spent considerable time being led in verbal circles by this company and do not wish to spend further time in a similar situation. The product that is the leather Payton recliner set is so far below the quality of anything the former company of Havertys Furniture would offer its customers that it should be shameful. At this juncture, I am a former and highly dissatisfied customer.

It will be paid off in Feb of 2017. Last August I noticed that there was some water on the arm of the chair and wiped it off and the color came off. Also noticed that the same is happening to one of the cushions on the sofa. I called Havertys and told them.

They asked how old it was, they asked if I had gotten the extended warranty and told them "no, I did not." They said "Sorry. We can't do anything for you. If you want someone to come and look at it it will cost you I think 65.00," and then to have it fixed unknown amount. I said "Are you kidding!!! You don't stand behind your product." They said it was hand rubbed color and that is "you rub too hard the color will come off." Another "are you kidding." I told them I didn't rub that hard and the color came right off. So the leather is not dyed and just on the top layer. No wonder all of it is coming off here and there.

Never again will I buy anything from them. They are suppose to be a higher end store, but not so. The prices they charge are higher than normal, but their service is below normal. As each day went by it all became more obvious the springs and the cushions and backs were not living up to the representations made when purchasing these recliners. The representations made by the salesperson and on the Internet were that the Recliners had Sinuous (No-Sag) Springs. A No-Sag spring system offers support and a padded, tight back with 1.8-density foam test cushion.

On Monday August 8, 2016 after only six weeks since the delivery of the recliners I went to the local store to advise them of our problem. The Manager was not in that day. The next morning I called and spoke with the Manager whose tone was very rude. I offered to come to the store to show him pictures of what was occurring but he wanted no part of this and said call Customer Service. On August 9,2016 I called Customer Service to complain and spoke with a person named Becky. She arranged for a technician to come to our home on Friday, August 12, 2016.

The technician arrived and inspected all three recliners. At the time I showed him a part of the spring that I had found on the floor under one of the recliners. He turned over the same recliner and found a second similar part from the same spring. He Sat in all three chairs and observed how you could feel the springs in your butt. He also noticed the wrinkles in all three seats and the wrinkles in the backs of the recliners. He took pictures of the parts he and I had found and of the wrinkles in the seats of the recliners and their back. He took the back off of one recliner and stuck his hand inside and commented that "there is not enough batter that is why you have the wrinkles."

Not having heard from Customer Service I called again on August 16, and spoke to a person named Athena. After some waiting she advised me that the technician had written a report that he found the recliners met specification, whatever that means. In any event that was not the impression neither given to me by the technician nor spoken to me at the time of his visit. She indicated that nothing would be done as respects all the recliners except for the one recliner that would have to be taken to the shop for repair.

She did not deny that she saw in the photos that the technician had taken showing the parts that had come loose and the wrinkles in both the seat cushions and backs. Athena said she would get back to me but I have not heard from her as yet. I did what I had to do, went to Magistrates Court and filed a Summons and Complaint seeking a full refund for the defective chairs that did not meet up with the representation given by the sales person and published on the Internet.

I purchased a living room set from Havertys and in two years they had to send a tech out 3 times and replaced the entire cushion set 3 times. The set is still falling apart and now Havertys is stating there is nothing they can do because it is out of warranty. I advise no one to purchase anything from Havertys. The furniture is junk and I have to continue to make my payments. It is ludicrous.

We have made many Havertys Furniture purchases over the years. The last purchase was for three (3) barstools - wooden in construction with linen fabric. Beautiful chairs, but hesitant about getting linen fabric for kitchen area. We were persuaded by the salesman for the first time to purchase the Guardsman protection plan to cover ANY PROBLEMS including if the "dog eats the chair." We have had to use the plan 1st for one of chairs which was delivered with a greasy fingerprint on it (should not be a protection issue since it was delivered that way), 2nd for a stain that would not come out.

When the delivery person delivered the replacement chair one of the arms of the chairs was loose - I had to point that out. He said, "No problem, I can tighten that right now." Well over several months time (these chairs are rarely sat in) a family member came to visit and was sitting in the chair when the arm literally fell off one end. This happens to be the chair that was "replaced" because it came in slightly different color than the other two. I filed a claim and guess what, "it is not covered." NEVER, NEVER, NEVER again will I purchase this scam!

First of all, I am so very disappointed in the quality of the chairs - have never had such bad experience with a Havertys purchase. Second, Guardsman makes it so very difficult to even file a claim. You first have to go online - fill out questionnaire, attach photos of the damage, then photo of the furniture in its "natural environment" and then print out a form to mail in - after they receive the mailed copy you wait another 10 days for a response. Guess what, NOT COVERED. PLEASE DO NOT LET THEM TALK YOU INTO THE SCAM!!! Very disappointed in quality of Haverty's furniture - obviously not what it used to be!

My first time shopping at Havertys has went from one of the most exciting experiences to one of the worst. I purchased a queen bed frame but decided to upgrade to a king. I called the store to initiate the change and was told my sales rep would get back to me. He never did, so I decided to go into one of the other Havertys stores specifically because they had the bed on display and I wanted to see it again. That was probably my first mistake.

My new sales rep insisted that I buy one of their mattresses even though I declined more than once and clearly stated I already had a mattress in mind I wanted to purchase from online. I was told I could not possibly find a good mattress online. Needless to say I decided to purchase the mattress from Havertys. The mattress when tested at the store was fairly comfortable and the price seemed right considering the one I wanted to purchase.

Come day of delivery, my bed frame could not be completely assembled because some of the pieces that came were the wrong size. About three days later the delivery team returned with what should have been the right parts but arrived with the wrong parts yet again. The first time the error was made was not so bad, but the second time put me at a complete inconvenience. Not to mention customer service made no effort to speed up the delivery of the correct parts nor provided an explanation as to why there was no rush on the issue.

I had family coming so we had no choice but to use the mattress as is without it sitting properly on a bed frame. At this time I discovered the mattress did not have the same feel as it did in the store. I even wondered if they delivered the right mattress. I called customer service to return the mattress and was told the mattress would feel different once the missing parts arrive and the bed is properly put together. Additionally, I was told to test it out for 30 days to break it in and so that I will not be charged a restocking fee for returning it too soon.

Well, the delivery team returned a third time and finally came with the correct parts for the bed frame. 30 days later and the mattress still feels uncomfortable. I called customer service to make the return and was told the return would be processed and that I would get a call back to let me know the date the mattress would be picked up. Instead I got call back from my sales rep who sold me the mattress and was told that it stated no returns AT ALL on the receipt for the type of mattress I bought. Her solution was for me to purchase a mattress pad. I believe if a mattress is any good, or the is the right mattress, it should not need a mattress pad.

Seeing as though I was not getting anywhere with the sales rep, I called customer service again. I was told that it says on the receipt that the mattress had a 3 day return policy and since it is past then it cannot be returned. Now that statement and the sales rep's statement was contradicting. So did the receipt say no return at all or was there a 3 day window? Let's not forget my bed wasn't even fully assembled for over a week and for that reason I was not using the mattress initially to even make a decision within 3 days. Plus considering customer service telling me weeks ago to test the bed out for 30 days then I can return it after. Given all of that makes this situation a mess.

Had I been aware beforehand (obviously I did not read the receipt to know what it actually said) that there were supposedly no returns allowed PERIOD on the mattress, that would have been a red flag and I most likely would not have purchased the mattress. Given the issues with the bed frame and my original conversation with customer service regarding the mattress, I was hoping to still get the bed returned and receive a full refund. Which would have been the RIGHT thing for Havertys to do.

I ended up with a store credit to pick another mattress within 20 days. However, I am completely disappointed and unsatisfied. Instead of being left with the feeling that at least Havertys satisfactorily rectified the situation so that I would have no issue shopping there in the future, I am now being forced to shop at Havertys for another mattress that I do not want which I possibly may not be able to get a refund on if I do not find it comfortable.

So say so done. I went to the store to pick out another mattress. The two I found somewhat comfortable, both had a $2000+ price difference. I had to get an increase in my Havertys card. Which means more and longer monthly payments. I am so stressed out over this mattress situation that I left the store without one. I just want my money back! (In this case credited back to my Havertys credit card) and for Havertys to pick up the mattress. Is that asking too much?

Also I have learned there is no such thing as a refund on the mattresses. They will just keep doing a store credit for you to go pick out another mattress. Unacceptable! I am done with Havertys. Obviously Havertys does not care about losing customers though, or at least this one. They just care about money and sales. Customers should hope nothing ever goes wrong when purchasing from Havertys because they probably won't be satisfied with the outcome. The mattress was/is Posturepedic Planters Grove Plush Euro Pillowtop. I highly do not recommend it.

I was a Havertys first time customer and this will be the last time that I purchase from this furniture chain. My spouse and I purchased a bedroom set after moving into our first new home as a married couple. We made the purchase 2-3 weeks prior to delivery. On the date of delivery which was Saturday, July 23rd, we were informed that the warehouse had put the incorrect on the truck. The driver stated that he needed to complete his deliveries for the day and would return later that day with the correct rails as they were likely improperly tagged. After waiting a few hours, I called customer service and was informed that they needed to wait until the delivery truck returned before they could do anything. They stated that they would call me back later that evening.

I decided to call them when I didn't receive a call back only to find out that the office was closed and would not reopen until Monday. I called on Monday morning and was informed that the correct bed rails would be delivered on Wednesday. In the meantime, we slept with the mattress on the floor which intensified my back problems. Delivery was confirmed for Wednesday between 5-7PM. We waited and waited and at 6:45, I called customer service because I now know that they close at 7PM EST. Customer service reported that the rails were not on the truck and would not be delivered on Wednesday. She did provide another date of August 2nd to deliver the bed rails. Really? 10 days later and 10 nights of sleeping on a mattress on the floor? Unacceptable.

At the very least, we should've heard from customer service to explain the delay but no, we initiated each call ourselves. We offered to pick up the rails ourselves and assemble the bed but we were informed that the rails had to ship from Atlanta. We reside in Maryland. Next time we will take our business elsewhere. Steer clear of Havertys. (Picture attached shows the incorrect rails sitting against the wall in our bedroom and the headboard and footboard.)

Delivery arrived on time but the sectional they brought was not the same color we ordered and the coffee table was missing the glass top. My wife texted me the picture of the sectional they brought and I told her to reject it. When she try to explain them that they got the wrong color I hear them arguing with her over the phone. I finally get one of the guys on the phone and told him to leave my home with the items he brought.

Since the salesperson gave me his card when I made the purchase, I called his number to tell him what happened. The phone went straight to customer service and after a long wait a lady answered the phone. Gave her my phone # and address and she told me that there was nobody at home to receive the delivery. After I explained what happened she put me on hold for an awfully long time and came back with apology that the driver made a mistake. She took my information and told me they will contact me in 24 hours. Now I will be sitting on the floor till this guys get my stuff home. Over the past several years I've purchased a couple of thousand dollar's worth of furniture from Havertys and have always been pleased, however this last $1554.00 dollar purchase I'm extremely disappointed! Let me explain: My wife and I visited Havertys in W-S N.C. several times looking for a Living Room suite and we settled on one. Our saleslady kept pushing the stain resistant and after I thought about the 4 grandchildren we have it wouldn't be a bad idea on the Bone colored recliner we bought so I paid the $60.00 to have it protected only to learn that since I paid $464.24 and not $500.00 for the chair it doesn't come with a cleaning kit! I have to notify some aftermarket company and make a claim should it become stained?

Plus I looked under the chair and it's marked "Made in China". Buyer beware, Havertys is NOT what it used to be and they don't care about the customer's anymore. So I'm DONE with them! Here's the response from Havertys: "Thank you for taking the time to contact us through our Website. We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you've experienced on your most recent purchase and delivery. We have forwarded your comments to the proper management so you will be contacted regarding the requested return of the Guardsman Protection as we are unable to provide a kit for you based on the pricing of your sale. You should be contacted within 48 hours to discuss a resolution."

A few weeks ago, I purchased almost $8000.00 in furniture from Havertys. My salesperson was nice and was constantly emailing and/or calling me PRIOR to the purchase. I scheduled delivery for a Saturday 12-2, received an email confirmation with later time and then a phone call with an even later time. Finally the furniture was delivered at 6:00 PM (4 hrs. late) and a formal dining room table was left un-assembled in the middle of my floor.

The delivery guy whose sole purpose is to DELIVER AND ASSEMBLE FURNITURE did not have the hardware to assemble the table. I asked him several time what did I need to do to get this fixed and his company line response was "Its a process." "What is the process?" "I dont know maam; its just a process." Ok. So Havertys hire unintelligent delivery men who can't give a thorough answer! I had a house full of guest and it was my daughters graduation weekend. Needless to say the dinner I was hosting had to be changed to another location at the last minute.

I called at 8AM Monday morning and was advised that someone would be out Thursday! I promptly informed the associate, this was not acceptable and someone needed to come assemble this table today (Monday). The associate offered to overnight the hardware to me. WHY? So it will be there when the guy comes on Thursday to assemble the table!! Ridiculous. After much going back and forth and demanding to speak to someone with authority to make it happen, I was advised that someone would be out between 8-10AM Tuesday. Guess what?!! This guy arrived with the WRONG hardware. This is day 4 of having a formal dining room table laying in the middle of my floor.

During this time, I also called and emailed my sales consultant and I wasnt shocked - no return phone call or email. I called customer service, received the runaround from a sales associate who offered me an insulting 10% discount. Finally reached a store manager who gave me a slighter higher discount and arranged for a new table and buffet (which was damaged as well).

I have still not heard from my salesperson during this time. A new table and buffet was delivered to me a full week after the Havertys delivery person left the table in the middle of my floor, with some parts in boxes and some out. It was very time consuming and frustrating that there was no hustle on Havertys part to right the situation. It was an inconvenience to me at every turn. The only reason I kept the purchase was because my fiance loved the set. I had already been to Stacys and picked out a new table and buffet. My experience with Havertys was horrible and I will never purchase from them again. I felt like I was shopping at Furniture for Less!!! Oh and my salesperson called AFTER THE NEW TABLE AND BUFFET WAS RECEIVED.

I purchased a sofa from Havertys approx. 2.5 years ago. When I purchased the piece I also purchased the Guardsman gold protection plan to protect the sofa for 5 years. It's suppose to cover any stains, spills, tears, or rips that might happen during that time. The Havertys salesperson will tell you "It's so easy to do that you're going to need it." DON'T DO IT!!! When I actually went to use it, it wasn't helpful at all. My dog had an accident on the sofa which I reported and they sent someone out with leather wipes that you can buy in the store. No steam cleaning or disinfecting. So naturally there is a small odor, and that apparently they don't cover. So they could basically wipe it off like I did, but not actually fix the problem like the "protection plan" was suppose to do. I've been fighting that fight for over a year now.

Recently I started to feel some springs poking through, so once again I called to make an appointment to have someone come out. After scheduling a 4-hour window for the repairman (which he was late for by the way) and taking the day off from work, he spent about 5 mins. and said he didn't see anything wrong but could see where it was sagging. So there is nothing wrong but it's sagging??? I don't understand. He said he would suggest they replace the cushioning and he would put that in his report. After waiting a week I finally got a report summary stating the repairs were denied. So now I have this beat up sofa that I purchased protection for and was suppose to be covered and isn't. All I can say is BUYER BEWARE!! NOT A GOOD COMPANY AND OVERPRICED FOR WHAT THEY OFFER!!

We were told there was a one-year warranty by Havertys Furniture Company. We were told about a five-year warranty from their warranty company. We were delighted that we now could have six years of warranty. After delivery, I attempted to understand these two warranties and we returned to the furniture store to inquire.

We were told that we had "double-coverage" during the first year but that the warranty then was only for four more years. I find this very unfair and requested that this be changed to six years of warranty. The clerk must have told me five times that Havertys is an old established company and would "take care of us". But that needs to be in writing and she could not produce such a "written" document. I complained to Havertys "online" and have not had a reply from them.

Wow. So many horrible reviews for the store where we have bought over 75% of our furniture over the last 10 years?! Perhaps the Greenville, SC store is a diamond in the rough. Yes, we have had issues with some of the mattresses purchased in the past, but our local store took care of them without incident. Honestly, their mattresses are overpriced and not the greatest. Lesson learned. However, their furniture has held up beautifully over the years and we have returned time and again to work with Scott. This guy has been there for years and is one of the kindest people I have ever met. He is honest and knows literally everything about every piece of furniture in that darn store. It's amazing. The store was recently remodeled and is now much more open and logical. This last trip was a pleasure.

We just bought another sofa there two weeks ago and it's top notch. To be fair, several of the pieces we considered didn't appear to be very high quality. However, there were also several pieces more expensive and higher quality than the one we ultimately settled on. Their selection is huge... Obviously some suppliers are better than others and perhaps that's something the corporation needs to look at. In the end, we are extremely satisfied with the sofa we selected. This sofa is solid as a rock. Further, the delivery, while early, was professional and NOTHING was damaged in any way, just like all the other times we've bought from this store. In ten years, we have honestly never had any delivery issues.

Regarding the Guardsman plan (that even our salesman Scott pushed): skip it. That company really is as bad as all the reviews say. We got it once for a leather sectional we bought. One of the recliner handles frayed off after a year, but the company just gave us the runaround and never agreed to fix it. We ended up fixing it ourselves. The leather on the sofa, btw, still looks and feels great after four years (we have three kids). Guardsman is borderline fraudulent and Havertys needs to find a better option to be sure. Do NOT waste money on this plan.

All in all, we will continue shopping at Havertys into the next decade. Yes, their prices aren't always the lowest, but we have an account with them that lets us pay interest free over 12 months. If I went elsewhere and purchased the same amount of furniture on a credit card, I guarantee the extra interest alone would negate a slightly lower purchase price. Plus, I work a lot and I know when I go in, Scott will find me the best possible piece in no time and have me on my way. He always remembers me and even after gaps of two or three years still seems to remember my taste... That's just crazy! Like I said, perhaps the Greenville store is a diamond in the rough, but a diamond it definitely is.

Almost 3 years ago we paid for a very expensive Stearns & Foster mattress. We thoroughly stated our hesitation on purchasing another mattress with any memory foam because of a bad past experience with cratering. The salesperson assured us that the new product in this mattress would not crater and if anything went wrong, Havertys would take care of it and replace the mattress themselves.

Today, after 3 years, here we are again with a mattress and several thousand later, having the same problem. They sent a tech out to inspect the mattress and the misleading and dishonest way that is required to measure the depth has left my husband and I with a very bad taste for Havertys. With a foam top that is going to rise some when you are out of it, you cannot tell how much it is cratering without pushing down or laying on the bed. They pull a string across the bed and hold a block on the top of a tufted foam mattress and say it has to be over an inch and a half indention. I explained if he pushed on it or laid on it he could feel it was much more than that. There is literally no support left in the mattress, leaving my husband and I with either a horribly aching back or sleeping in the guest room.

Never were we told it would be based on the manufacturer and their rules. In fact, exactly the opposite. The salesperson "emphasized" that Havertys stands behind the product and would take care of replacing it. We have spent thousands and thousands of dollars with Havertys over the last 25 years. How unfortunate that they don't stand behind what their salespeople say or the products they sell. They have lost a life-long customer and someone who will let everyone know what their experience has been. And we certainly would have expected more from Stearns & Foster.

DO NOT, I REPEAT - DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS STORE. Terrible delivery service. Cancelled a whole order at one Havertys - went to another & the same mess happened. Very inconsiderate of your time and money. Dishonest and just BAD FOR BUSINESS.

I visited Havertys out of the suggestion from my wife who thought that this store was a good one!! Boy was she wrong. I spent almost 4300 hundred dollars on some bedroom furniture which was damaged before it was even taken off the truck. One main concern is that the driver did not help his passenger to bring the furniture in my home. I should have read all these complaints before I went to purchase from this store. What a total waste of my time to shop at this store. I am just waiting for my refund to hit my credit card. Yes this place is overpriced and does not live up to their prices!

Valid customers for years! Issue after issue! On my 3rd couch with now awaiting Guardsman to call me back to come look at these recliners. Just had a Curio delivered that is damaged! Same darn issues with the dining room chairs! How can this company still continue selling crap and why can we NOT make a review on their site?

I purchased a Piedmont Sectional from Havertys less than a year and a half ago and barely used it. The cushion cover is coming apart at the seams. After shopping around, I decided to purchase from Havertys even though the sectional was more expensive thinking the quality would be better. That's not the case!!! This was my 1st and it will be my last time purchasing from them. They sell very poor quality furniture and will not back up their product. I called the store and all they said was they can't do anything because the warranty for the cushion cover is only for 1 year. I guess I learned a valuable lesson and will not make that mistake again. The store might look high end but doesn't mean the product they sell is worth it!

Why is this company still in business? I wrote a review about them 2 years ago citing the identical problems everyone else has reiterated. We spent $3,500 on leather sofas and recliners and within a year, they started to fall apart. Service technician comes out and tells us he's seen this so many times before. We also got sucked into the Guardsman protection and were told to contact them. Guardsman is completely useless. I can't believe the BBB or a federal trade organization hasn't shut them down.

I even wrote a letter to the President of Havertys and he pretty much passed me off onto one of his Vice Presidential flunkies who sent me a two-page letter explaining that furniture doesn't last forever. Perhaps not, but I expect it to last more than a year!! PLEASE do not do business with this company. Frustration and disappointment will ensue. Read all the complaints. They are all the same. Shabby furniture and even shabbier treatment of customers. The only positive thing I can say about Havertys is at least they're consistent.

July 2014 my husband and I purchased a sectional from Havertys. We shopped around many stores, but because we thought Havertys had a better quality product, we decided to purchase from them. We spent more on a couch than we would have liked, but again, because we thought Havertys had good quality merchandise, we decided to purchase from them. We were talked into buying the Guardsman protection plan to help protect our investment because we wanted it to last a long time.

After a few months a cushion cover started coming apart at the seams. We contacted Havertys and it was replaced. Wonderful help. After a few more months 2 more cushions started having the same problem. They were unraveling around the seam area. We contacted Havertys and they told us that because the 1 year mark had passed, we now had to deal with Guardsman. We contacted Guardsman, which was not easy. We called, they sent us papers, we filled them out, took pictures and mailed them back in. A technician came to our house, several weeks later to fix. When he arrived he said he could not fix the problem. He said he would recommend to Guardsman that we just get replacement cover for the cushions.

Then 2 days ago we got an email from Guardsman saying they would not cover fraying near the seams. The couch is not even 2 years old. This process has taken over 2 months and we got absolutely nowhere. The quality of the sectional is the worst I have ever seen. We've never had to spend a couple thousand on a couch and have it last only a year. I am disappointed at the quality of the product and even more disappointed at Guardsman, which I feel like is a total scam. If this is the quality that Havertys sells, I would have been better going to Rooms to Go or Ashley Furniture, spent half the money and had a couch that would have at least lasted a couple years.
