Tips for Watermelon Margaritas

Watermelon margaritas are a refreshing twist on the classic margarita co*cktail. Here are some tips to make your watermelon margaritas stand out:

  1. Use fresh watermelon: The key to a great watermelon margarita is using fresh, ripe watermelon. Avoid using pre-cut watermelon that may have been sitting in a container for a while.
  2. Blend the watermelon: To make the perfect watermelon puree for your margaritas, blend fresh watermelon chunks in a blender until smooth. Strain the puree to remove any pulp.
  3. Don't forget the lime: Margaritas are not complete without the tartness of lime. Squeeze fresh lime juice into your watermelon puree for a tangy kick.
  4. Choose your tequila wisely: The type of tequila you use will greatly affect the taste of your margarita. For a smoother, more refined taste, opt for a high-quality tequila.
  5. Add a kick: Want to spice up your watermelon margarita? Add a dash of hot sauce or a slice of jalapeno for an added kick of flavor.

How do I make a frozen watermelon margarita?

Frozen watermelon margaritas are a refreshing and delicious summer drink that can be enjoyed by anyone, whether you're lounging by the pool or having a backyard barbecue with friends.

Start by blending together chunks of watermelon until they are smooth and there are no chunks left. Add in the tequila and lime juice, and blend again until everything is well combined.

Next, add in the ice and blend again until the mixture is smooth and slushy. Pour the mixture into glasses and garnish with a slice of watermelon or a wedge of lime.

These margaritas are perfect for cooling down on a hot day, and the sweetness of the watermelon combined with the tartness of the lime and the kick of the tequila make for a tasty and refreshing treat. So go ahead and give them a try - your taste buds will thank you!

  1. Shay says

Have you tried watermelon jolly rancher sugar free water flavoring powder? Works better without the sugar. Little goes a long way. I use that along with Bai sparkling watermelon lime water, muddled watermelon and fresh lime. Takes it down to no sugar outside of naturally occurring in the watermelon. If you still want that orange liqueur flavoring opt for orange extract. Cheers!

That would be nice if 6 margaritas were only 105 calories. 😉

Is Grand Marnier or triple sec better for a margarita? ›

Can they replace Triple Sec? Both Grand Marnier and Cointreau are excellent replacements for Triple Sec when making a Margarita. In fact, both of these are significantly more expensive and are considered to be better than inexpensive Triple Sec both in quality and taste.

Why do you put triple sec in margaritas? ›

Traditionally, orange has always been a classic pairing for any agave-based spirit, providing a sweeter complement without overpowering the notes of the agave. In Margaritas, the inclusion of triple sec provides a luscious, warm citric note that counterbalances the lime juice's high acidity.

How can I improve my margarita? ›

If you prefer a bit more flavor to your margarita or love a Paloma co*cktail, fruit juice is an easy way to give a bit more oomph and sweetness to a basic margarita, which just contains lime. Larger ice cubes take longer to melt, providing a slower dilution process.
