The aim of this layout is to reach 20 stators per minute, going on to create 10 motors per minute.Whilst maintaining a clean open factory.

In order to construct this layout we will require:

  • 80 Copper
  • 90 Coal
  • 90 Iron Ore
  • Six Assemblers
  • Nine Constructors
  • Three Smelters
  • Two Foundries
  • < 146 Mw

Stator & Motor Super-Efficient Build Guide

Part 1 – Foundry & Smelter Placement

To begin, place down a constructor against the edge of the thirteenth (last) foundation. Directly in-front of this place a foundry bridging the two foundations in-front of it. From here place the second foundry flush against the first one on the left-hand side. You can now delete the constructor, should you wish.

Next place the three smelters in the centre of the first, second and third columns foundations. I recommend that you keep the smelter outputs in line with the foundry outputs, although this is not necessary.

Next you will need to build a manifold for the three inputs. Copper ore for the smelters. Iron ore and coal for the steel foundries. Note we shall use overhead merging and splitting manifolds in this guide.

In-front of the foundry outputs place down elevators, this will feed into a merger. Note for a perfect merger connection, place the merger first. The merger should be two steps in-front of the chosen output and stacked three mergers high. Once done connect the elevator from the foundry output to the top merger, then delete the two mergers beneath. From here place a splitter in-front of the merger (done by stacking three stackers, and deleting the bottom two.) Make sure the merger and splitter are connected by a conveyor.

Along the same row as the splitter you will want to place mergers in a row facing towards the right of the grid, place these mergers in-front of the smelters. Place elevators after the smelters and then run the conveyor line to the mergers, do this for all three smelters.
We shall now place six splitters along this row. Start by placing a splitter directly after the last merger, the splitter should be bridging the gap of two foundations, repeat this on each of the following foundations heading to the right. Next connect with conveyors.

Part 2 – Constructor Placement

We need to place a total of 9 constructors. For this stage, we will place 10 constructors in a row two steps in-front of the first splitter and running all the way to the end of the 13th column. At this point we will delete the 7th constructor.

You should now have three constructors in-front of the steel foundries. These will produce steel pipes at 100% clockspeed.

Your second line of constructors will be six long, producing wire and in-front of the splitters along the manifold line you just placed.
Note these constructors will all be running at 100% clock-speed with the exception of one constructor which will be set at 33% clock-speed.

Connect the six constructors with elevators, as well as the 9th constructor. You will also need to connect the 8th and 10th constructor to the two remaining splitter outputs.

At this point build two merging manifolds in-front of the constructors. One in-front of the first six constructors with the mergers all flowing towards the third constructors’ merger (This should be facing forward)

The second manifold will be placed in-front of the three constructors running steel pipes. This manifold should flow to the constructor in the 13th column and also flow forwards.

Part 3 – Assembler Placement

For this next part we will be placing the assemblers for the stators and then the motors.
In order to do this, leave the next row of foundations free (we will be placing the manifold along here.)
Along the next foundation place four assemblers in the 13th, 11th, 9th and 7th column. The edge of the assembler should be flush against the front of the foundation. These assemblers will be running stators at 100% clock-speed.

We shall then skip two columns and place a further two assemblers along the same row for the motors, again running at 100% clock-speed. They should be placed with a foundation gap between the two.

Next we will place a double manifold, start by stacking splitters heading to the right on one level and steel pipes running across the manifold flowing left.

I recommend placing the splitters two steps from the assembler and then stacking one line three splitters high and the second four splitters high. Connect these together with conveyors and then use elevators to feed the assemblers.

We will now place a merging manifold on the output side of the Assemblers. This line will flow to the left and upon reaching the end of the Stator assembler line, we will route it to the front of the last two assemblers in the 4th and 2nd column where we will now use a splitter to distribute the 20 stators per minute into the assemblers where they will now produce motors, providing you feed them with 20 rotors per minute which we covered previously here.

Once fully connected your build should look something like this, ready to move on to become turbo motors at a later date. Thank you so much for taking the time to view the guide.
