Why Do My Chaffles Stick? — Keto Twins (2024)

are your chaffles sticking?

A common question or complaint that we get about chaffles is “Why are my chaffles sticking to the waffle maker?” The reason why your chaffles are sticking to your waffle maker (or your Dash Mini Waffle Maker) is that you are not leaving them in the waffle maker long enough. Chaffles are basically cheese waffles. As the cheese melts it can make for a messy chaffle making experience if you open the waffle maker too soon! You need to allow most of the moisture to cook out of the cheese, which takes about 4-5 minutes at minimum. Resist the temptation to open the waffle maker before then!

Once the moisture has left the cheese the chaffle will start to harden in the waffle maker, and it will naturally shrink. This allows the chaffle to start to pull away from the non -stick surface. If you cannot get the chaffle out of the waffle maker it means that you haven’t left it in long enough. If you see a golden brown color already, close the top of the waffle maker and wait around 45 seconds until you try again.

The chaffle should naturally release from the waffle maker when its done. Don’t forget to cool your chaffles on a wire rack, like this one.
